C-Brat Burgee, New 2024

Ok, the new C-Brat Burgee is finished and ready for order. I worked with Kathy Wilson of Kathy's Needleworks to get a new one made. I believe it is similar to the original from 10+years ago, (I never had one, so just going from photos), except we changed the windows to all be the same color. (The old burgee appears to have some white windows and some red.) Kathy also does the burgees for Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats, and I believe will have these available for some time in the future. As of today, they are $65 and can be ordered directly from Kathy.

Her email is kathysburgees@icloud.com.
Her website is: https://www.kathysneedleworks.com/

One of the tips she offers with the burgee shipment is: "The sun and wind will fade your burgee, also continuous day and night display will shorten the burgee's life. You should consider covering or taking your burgee down when not in use. You can wrap it around the staff and use a bungee cord to secure it, or get a cover for it."

I will upload photos of the burgee front and back in the next post. I'll see if I can figure out how to upload an order form as well. Colby

Here are pictures of the new burgee.

Colby,

Do you know if it possible to change the color of the boat stripes on the the burgee? The earlier burgee was a patch sewn to a pennant. If this version is directly embroidered on, it might be as simple as a color selection in the machine. For instance, I might want my burgee to be green instead of red.

Thanks.

I had earlier thought about asking for the same thing in blue, but then just decided to go with the previous colors, other than making the windows all the same. (Other reasoning was I figured the emblem was just to resemble a C-Dory, and not the boat color it's flown on.) It appears Kathy made the patch first, and then that is attached to the pendant. I would recommend you contact Kathy directly and see if she can change color schemes. I'm not sure, but I think now that she has the pattern, she can just sew them up as ordered. I'm very pleased with mine. Let us know what you find out. Colby

Kathy just emailed me this:

Thank you Colby, I’m glad you like it. I was reading what you wrote on one the sites and saw a question about changing the color of the boat, the answer is yes, I can make the strip any color, everything is embroidery and colors can be change. They can get a hold of me and I can answer any of there questions.

Thank you again,

Kathy

Just wanted to bring this up again, in case anyone is interested in getting a C-Brat burgee for their boat. A lot of effort was put into getting a new burgee made available. Thank you.

I have one and I can't say enough good things about Kathy's work and her prompt and pleasant service. Looks great on the boat and gets a lot of comments.

I also ordered one in May of this year. It is very nice quality. It was easy to order and pay. I highly recommend. It makes the boat look more classy.
