Ok Folks,
Got some feedback at the SBS about a Spring Fling.
The plan is for April 21-22 or maybe even 20-22, open to ideas on that. But we propose to hold it at Dock Street Landing in Tacoma's Foss Waterway. There is a new Marina adjacent to the Chihuly Glass museum and we are right at downtown Tacoma, and there is a free Tram for getting around downtown.
Also, another good reason is that the Daffodil Marine Parade in conjunction with the Daffodil Festival is that weekend. All the C-Brat's on Sunday could raft up near the shoreline and watch the big parade of decorated "boat floats", and accompanying flagships during the Daffoldil Marine parade.
Just Google Daffodil festival, or Tacoma Yacht Club for info on the parade, and Foss Waterway or Dock Street Landing Tacoma ,for info on moorage details. Links will follow in later posts.

Great idea, Jim!! Good way to kick off the Spring season -- lots of good museums nearby you say, good restaurants, the boat (and land) parade, and best of all -- good companionship of C-Dory folk. We have it circled on the boat log and hope to be there.

Jim, Good idea! I was tossing around the idea of having a CBGT in the South Sound. Maybe this might be the answer.

Peter

Thanks Peter,
We usually do have something in the spring in the South Sound , and with the re-vitalization of the Tacoma waterfront ,there is a lot to do and see now and it won't be long until it wil be discovered by all the other boaters out there too. Besides we could really show those yacht clubbers how the Brats do it on Daffodil Weekend! Any help on it would be appreciated.

Jim

i had no idea there was a tacoma marina and waterfront on the ohio river. can't wait to see you guys and join in on all the festivities! should i bring my own beer?

Ponchita is in barring I can get the time off, it sounds great! It was great to see everyone at the Argosy cruise,SBS, and Factory get together.

Also keep in mind that Boat Season Opening Day is usually the first week-end in May. I will be calling Kathy at the Lopez Islander in the next week or so to let her know we are coming and find out if anything has changed from past years.

If you don't mind having a boat of another color  , we would love to buzz on over and meet some of the Brats. Our boat is just across the water at Foss Landing.

What color would that be Jeff? Doesn't matter, just curious.

hey jim are you buying the beer for the weekend? we ought to look for a local brew

C-Voyager should be put back together by then, so I will make this gathering if it is scheduled.

Anybody in the C-Brats or Wannabe C-Brats come on over. Boats of all " colors" are welcome ,even some of the ones not currently being built, if you all get my drift.
That's what makes us the "friendliest group on the water."

Count us in with the usual caveats. Although I am scared at how much the Admiral may spend in the Glass Factory.

Merv

Thanks for the welcome Jim!! We are looking forward to putting some faces with the names on the board!!

Jeff and Julie

We have just found out that Dock Street marina is booked for this weekend. If anyone else has an idea as to another place please let us know. Our possibilities are Arabella's in Gig Harbor, or Dockton State Park and Quarter Master Harbor on Vashon Island. We will keep working on this. Another thing we can do is maybe change the weekend. What does everyone think?

I kind of liked Tacoma, but am open to anytime or place that will accommodate the most Brats..

We also liked the idea of Tacoma. All weekends in April work for us except April 14th.

As David inquired, with the Lopez gathering on the first weekend in May are these to close together. Would late March be too early in the year?
