C-Change - The next chapter

C-Change

New member
Stacy and I have reluctantly put C-Change up for sale in order to begin a new chapter in our lives. We apparently have been hanging around Sam a bit too much and made the mistake :) of having a look at his boat when we met up in Poulsbo last winter. Stacy said... Oh I like this... I could live on this boat. So....We are in the process of closing on a 2001 Nordic Tug 37 which we plan to live on full time in Olympia until my retirement (1 year, 9 months, 20 days from now - but who is counting). If we could keep both boats we would do it in a second but financial realities tell us otherwise.

We have been part of this wonderful community for over 9 years and don't plan on leaving if you will continue to have us. After retirement we plan on cruising to Alaska and then who knows. The loop is calling us as well.

We hope to see you all on the water over the next few years.

Best,

Jan & Stacy

We will keep an eye out for you guys and please post you boat's name once you have it to make that easier. Enjoy the tug for those of us with longer retirement waits!

That is very exciting! Hope all works according to your plan. Sam's boat is impressive - one like it will make a very nice home on the water!

Wishing you all the best,
Jim & Joan

Congratulations Jan. The Nordic is a fine boat and pretty efficient too. Someone is going to get one of the finest 25's in the PNW.

My friend, Rod is "electrifying" his mast/boom for easier dinghy launching on Kestrel, a NT37 that he bought about a month ago. I helped him with the boom install and it went well. His is white with the light gray stripe. He moved up from a NT 32 due to a grandson on the scene now.

Hope to see you in the San Juan's soon. Larry (Wigeon)

Hey you guys that is a nice upgrade! Maybe you and staci will make it up our way this summer? Let us know, I am going to try to get Dan and Tanya to meet as well. Good luck.

Congrats Jan and Stacy! You're getting a great boat and I know the buyer of your boat will be getting a pristine boat as well! Caryn and I will be sure to visit you two down in Olympia. In the meantime, enjoy that beautiful "new" boat!

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. We are still in negotiations over the new boat name - once we come to agreement I'll post the name. The current name "Bubbles" is not going to cut if for us :D so I am certain a name change is in order.

At his point we are not sure how much cruising we will get in this summer. We have to get the boat here from Michigan, move into the boat, rent our house and put everything in storage, sell the C-Dory, and did I mention that our parents will be here for about a month and a half total this summer - we are just working it one day at a time.

Once we get everything settled and feel a little more comfortable handling the boat we hope to get out at least a little bit of cruising in this year. Tom, for sure the Manhattans will be flowing the next time we meet. :P

Jan

Bigger boat on the outside most definitely. However; still Brats on the inside.

The new boat is just not quite as convenient to trailer for sure.

Congrats Jan and Stacy!

Take care,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah on the Echo

Jan & Stacy,

Congratulations of jumping into a really busy summer and next year and a few. That time will go by so fast it will make your head spin. Hard to find a nicer boat to move into. Will be watching for some updates along the way. Wish you two the best.
