Just a note to let you know that Caryn, Peter Jamero's wife, recently had major surgery. She is now recuperating at home prior to a second operation. Please send your good thoughts and prayers their way. I know it will be appreciated.

The following is from Caryn's blog...

"Over the course of the last 2 weeks since the surgery my husband Peter has been critical to my getting to and surviving the surgery. He has driven me to appointments, to Portland, stayed up all night through out pain and to give medications. He has produced meals, cleaned house, talked to doctors, rubbed my back and done just about everything you could think of to support me through this process. He has been there since the diagnosis in October but the last 2 weeks really stand out as a commitment to love and kindness. Thank you Peter."

"Today on the 2 week anniversary of the surgery I can confidently say I am getting better and stronger every day. Friends and family have kept me laughing and entertained as well as disciplined about getting sleep and rest so that the body can repair. Thanks for your continued prayers I feel them everyday."

Caryn and Peter,

Kate and I send you are best wishes for a speedy recovery. You already knew you had something special in Peter. Our hugs to both of you.

Marty,

Thanks so much for the post. And thanks to all of you for your kind words. Believe me, I had the easy part. Caryn had a major, major surgery and its been a slow road back to recovery filled with incredible pain. She's an incredibly strong-willed person and I have no doubt she's going to beat the big C.

For those of you who would like to learn more, take a look at her blog to read about this difficult journey she's been going through.

Once again, thank you for thinking of us. C-Brats are the best. You rock!!!

Peter & Caryn

Best wishes Caryn and Peter. You guys will be in our thoughts.

Sorry I had missed this earlier.

Take care,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah on C-Renity

Just a note to let you know that Caryn has updated her rehab progress on her blog. While it is apparent that it hasn't been easy, she is certainly a trooper. Her only real expressed complaint is that the Mariners lost the game she and Peter attended. She ends her posting with .."last but not least I hope to be able to go out on the boat by the end of August." Hope to see the C-Dancer crew back on the water real soon.

Our very best wishes for a continued good recovery - our thoughts and prayers are with you good folks. Peter is one great caregiver and Caryn a real trooper. Sure hope you are back to the water together soon. Our very best to you two. Love El and Bill

Thanks Marty for the update. We are planning to move C-Dancer down to the Everett Marina this weekend and Caryn will give it a try. Pray for calm seas. We're going to try to take advantage of the Pink and Coho seasons in the sound.

And thanks Bill and El for your kind words. Here's hoping we see you again real soon.

Speaking of the Mariners, arghhhh.... :x Only the M's could lose a 7-1 Felix lead!

It's the Fenway Park curse. Between yesterday's 15 inniings and today's 9th inning, it had me screaming at the TV.

I had the fortuitious opportunity to spend some time with Peter and Caryn last Saturday and Sunday at Westport. They graciously bought me dinner Saturday evening, and then Sunday Peter put the wood shampoo to a couple salmon aboard the C-Dawg. The guy's a fishing machine. :)

Caryn looked fantastic (as usual) and appears to be recovering wonderfully.

Good to hear the updates.

Peter and Caryn, continued prayers for strength and healing. Hope to see you on the water again soon.

Well, here's an excerpt from Caryn's latest blog entry. What a remarkable person...
"I feel so blessed to be having time to garden, be on and near the water, walk, read, spend time with loved ones, take week end trips and just plain enjoy life. I feel really strong in my recovery and can see myself coming out of the next surgery ready to recover again. This time I know what to expect, not that it will be exactly the same. I'm getting closer each day to this ordeal passing by and being a memory as I live on in health. I'm thankful for all that my body is doing to help me recover and fight this. It is amazing. I am learning more and more how to enjoy and be present for each moment. Life is precious. Thanks for all your help to remain positive as I move through this period of my life filled with new challenges and blessings. "

Thanks Marty for the mention and concern. Caryn is doing much better and is on the fast road to recovery. She's scheduled to go home tomorrow.

Thanks to the C-Brats who have checked in over the past few months, your kind words, thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. We're hoping with the last scheduled surgery behind us and a strong recovery over the next few months, Caryn will be able to live long with a strong quality of life.

Oh and some more good news, Caryn is now retired and will be able to enjoy a stress-free life away from work to enjoy life with her granchildren, boating on C-Dancer and traveling to exotic destinations. It's all good!
