C Dory 16 Cruiser Wallas 1300 install location?

Hi, picked up a Wallas and wondering where I can put it to keep it out of the way. Under berth? Inside bulkhead? Other ideas? Has anyone done this? Thanks!
 
Most of the stoves are put in a cutout on the top of the galley. You have to plumb the exhaust and fuel line plus have a platform and strap to hold the fuel in place. Then the electrical should come right off the battery. Full voltage at start up and shut down is essential to the stoves operation. They cannot be used like a "Coleman" type of portible gas stoves.

Thanks! I just have a bathtub toy, no galley. Wallace 1300 forced air kerosene. Not many options but wondering if anyone has ever cut out an access hatch?

I’m not sure if this or something similar might work on your 16. On our 22 the Wallas 1300 is mounted in the otherwise wasted space on the outboard side of the front port seat cushion. I added a partition in the box under the seat that it is mounted to which is easily removed for service. The 2 1/2 gal tank, (not pictured) is mounted under the seat. I also modified the seat width a few inches to accommodate the Wallas. I have a remote switch in the Vberth so it can be turned on before getting out of bed in the morning. The warm air blows out under the dinette table so it’s nice and toasty for morning coffee. Your 16 is a beauty. Ken

Thank you! That does give me some ideas. Where did you place the fuel container and how far beneath the wallas does it need to be?
 
You can see the fuel tank cap and fuel lines in the center photo. The tank is less than 12” below the bottom of the heater. I don’t think that’s too critical as the heater will pump/pick up fuel at least as high as the length of the fuel line. I made a tight fitting 3” high plywood box for the fuel tank to set in to keep it from moving.

Ok, question about your exhaust hose. I thought the exhaust hose was supposed to have a 12 in goose neck to prevent any water egress, I notice yours doesn’t and your exhaust is near the waterline. Have you had any issues?

Even though this install does not have the 12”gooseneck, I have not experienced any water intrusion, even in rough conditions. The exhaust is mounted 13” above waterline and above the strake. The through hull fittings on the sink drain and bilges are lower and below the strake, about 11” above waterline. You might also check with Scan Marine as I think Wallas makes a closable exhaust port. If I was doing the install over, I think I would mount the exhaust port below the strake like the other through hull fittings, then sacrifice a little space to ensure the 12” goose neck. Possibly even lower the heater mount a bit to allow for a better exhaust hose bend connection to the heater. The exhaust port would be better protected below the strake when docking.
