Just reflecting on how our CD 22 has changed and enriched our life.
1. A great way to take our grandkids to places to explore the world in ways they would otherwise never experience. Example: From our home port (3 miles away) we loaded 6 grandkids and one parental unit into C Eagle in late December and went out to see Bald Eagles close up. Three of these visiting city mice would never have seen this. They took memories back with them.

2. Fantastic escape from every day stresses: Example: This weekend, with limited prep and provisions, we decided to 'go somewhere' and not plan it. As we entered the Tennesssee River, we flipped a coin to turn up or downstream. Ended up going into Shoal Creek, a wildlife laden area on Wheeler Lake. After taking a few eagle shots, we explored the narrow creek far up into the shallow boonies and found a lone Kingfisher hiding in a sapling (in the C Eagle NATURE album if interested http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_ ... _album.php). The highlight photo is in Shoal Creek. We finally nosed in and tied to a sturdy tree for the night. While having a sundowner in the cockpit, we were surprised to hear and then see a Bald Eagle over the creek hunting a full 30 minutes past sundown. Then total, dead silence until morning. While having my first cuppa, saw a wild turkey fly across the creek and light on the ridge across from us - it doesn't get any better!!

3. A great place to just sit and relax tied to a dock at our home port marina (Ditto Landing). We usually talk ourselves into spending the night.

4. Gathering with other C Dory fanatics (C Brats) to explore new lakes and rivers together. One of best experiences one could possibly have.

OK - I'll stop blithering ................

Blithering? No Way! It's always a treat to hear how others are using their boats. Reading your post put a big ol' smile on my face, just thinking about those eagles. Thanks for sharing!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Great post! 'Tis those simple things in life that add up to a rich, sharing experience and a life of happiness and joy! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with all of us in the 'pub' -- 'tis always good to hear the reinforcing of (what we consider) the true values of life.

Wonderful to her about your nature studies with your grandkids and by yourselves!

Teaching them an appreciation for nature and the Earth will payoff in our future generations care for nature's blessings.

My son and I spend about as much time bird watching and doing other nature centered things as we do fishing anymore. Very gratifying, indeed!

This year we're mapping out the location of all the Bald Eagle and Osprey nests on Shasta Lake just for fun!

I think Dr. Bob said it right when he said:
Amen.
