What Marty Said :thup :thup

That one is going to look like a Sea Sport, bow on, from a mile away.

Yep.

Yep, those were the days."

Well, it's true. It's a terrible burden to know everything. Now git off'n my lawn.

I'll have to trust you on that one, Marty... I don't know what it's like to know everything. Heck, I don't even understand most of the questions. :crook I do agree with you, though, about the stripe at the bow. But, as Foggy says, "things change." As far as controlling things, I don't even run the TV remote most of the time.

We're in the desert right now. Nice RV park: concrete patios, a tree and a bush at every site, wide paved streets, and everything else is gravel. I miss a green lawn.

Hello out there!! We at Northwest Marine Industries just wanted to announce that we will have a C-Dory in the show again this year. The boat will be in the East Hall Space 1922 as a stand alone boat. We are excited to display the 26' Venture. Feel free to swing by and visit us at the show and we will look forward to seeing you all there!!

Thanks--Mark at Northwest Marine

Yaaeess! Please shoes off, no eating, drinking or smoking, drool bibs in place, AirHead off limits...

Aye.

Fine looking boat you have, Foggy. We once bought a motorhome that was brought by the manufacturer to a Family Motor Coach Association convention. We closed the deal the second day of the show, and the manufacturer put a sign on it that said, "Sold - but we'll make another one just for you." They kept the door locked, but allowed "seriously interested buyers" in to take a look (they had other coaches on display). It kept the kids with sticky hands off the leather furniture.

I knew we needed a tongue-in-cheek smiley.

Best wishes,
Jim

Hah. All I said was I like the traditional stripe. I really didn't know it could bring down the entire boating industry, not to mention civilization as we know it. :embarrased

Well, the posts here show that we all love our C-Dorys. and for very good reasons. I can enumerate a lot: cost, weight, sea keeping, cruising capabilities, heck, even the inside decor which is rather spartan and easy to keep up. And we all know their faults: poor cockpit drains (for those which have them,) spartan interiors, small entrance into the V-berth, etc.

And also, there are a lot of different opinions: refrigerator, head, water heater. Those are the ones Judy needs and others have taken out.

So there are a lot of different thoughts and we're all entitled to them. But the stripe on the hull is not one of the significant ones, especially the shape at the bow. If you're going to chew out the builder, we should mention something that makes a difference. I believe that the discussion is not over the height, but only that it does/doesn't narrow at the bow.

If you want to buy a new one, I'll bet they'll work with you on the shape, since it's a real minor thing. But to downgrade the boat for not having the "right" coaming stripe? OK, we're all entitled to our opinion, but really.

I've been reading this site since we got Journey On, after the Tollands, during the Reynolds; then there were was Fluid Something, and the present builders under 2 separate names. After reading a multitude of posts, I feel they all built solid boats, so I feel that while some business plans were screwy, their boats were good.

Boris

PS: I want you all to know that I've worked very hard to ensure that I offend as few as possible.
