I'm sorry I'm late to this discussion. I'd be interested in helping with an event and potentially hosting at least a portion of it. I am the new dealer in the Great Lakes region. I am based in the Eastern UP with our primary store/showroom/shop located in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. I also own a small marina/resort on the St Mary's River in Barbeau, MI. I would be interested in helping with an event here in the EUP.

I would suggest that if there is interest, we could look at locations from St. Ignace, Hessel, Cedarville, Detour Village, Barbeau, Sault Ste. Marie, Paradise, Grand Marais etc.

As noted I would be willing to help with some of the planning, logistics and would offer my marina for at least a portion of a meetup. My marina is not much and we have limited space, but I'd be happy to host some of the C-Dory family.

St. Ignace is a great location and nice marina. You can cruise many directions from there, such as Mackinac Island or Mackinaw City. Also the islands around Cedarville. However, you do have to cross some of Lake Huron so weather could be a factor.

Left the trailer & truck with Passage Boatworks for $5/day. Would love to return one day.

We just brought our C-Dory up to Minnesota from Florida. Wondering if there are any C-Brat meet ups in the greater Midwest region?

We are in the UP. Just got a 22’ Cruiser. We are looking at a few trips like Drummond Island for one.

I am thinking Mackinac and Bois Blanc (pronounced Bob-low) Also interested in Beaver Island… maybe heading out from Manistique. They have a great new marina there.

I just stopped by the marina in St Ignace for the details… $40 a day. They have a yard near by where you can leave your vehicle and trailer. I am thinking Mackinac and Bois Blanc (pronounced Bob-low) Also interested in Beaver Island… maybe heading out from Manistique. They have a great new marina there.

St Ignace has a nice launch and large parking area. I have left my truck and trailer there for up to a week. Their launch and parking fees have increased this past year. I believe for out of state residents it's $10/day or $70 for a annual pass. The launch and parking is about a mile from the marina. I think they prefer you let the Police Chief know if you are parking overnight or for an extended period. An annual pass can be picked up from the City office. Mackinac Island is a great place to visit as well. I've just slipped at the marina, along the shore, and stayed for a week. The marina can be quite rough during the day with the ferries coming and going. So be sure to tie up well. Good luck figuring out the best way to fender, due to the posts. Mackinaw City has a busy downtown area with a nightly laser show, numerous restaurants and shops. I prefer to stay at the Straights Marina there, as opposed to the City Marina. Both are walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Also several interesting museums on both Mackinac and Mackinaw. Beaver Island has a nice small marina, and we've enjoyed riding our bikes along the shore. An interesting old lighthouse along the way to Beaver. Be sure to check out the toy museum when there. The Les Cheneaux Islands offer some nice cruising and anchorages as well. Cheboygan, MI, is at the head of the Cheboygan River and Michigan Inland Waterway. That can get pretty busy in the summer, but was a nice cruise, including through two small locks. All these places can be accessed within a day or two from St. Ignace. You can find nice boat launches at the Straights Marina and Cheboygan as well, but for me that involves the Mighty Mac bridge toll. ALso, I believe the Straights, being part of Michigan's State Park system, charges a non-resident use annual permit, in addition to the cost of launching and parking. Cheboygan is a county marina, and last time I used that ramp, parking was $5/day, but I"m sure that's increased.

Thank you Colby!!! That is so helpful. We are MI residents, so maybe we will get a break . We just picked up our 1996 22’ Cruiser yesterday ( had to wait an eternity for my check to clear the bank ). It was parked in L’Anse with a for sale on it…. It is a beauty and we are so excited! Been looking for one for a while!

Hammond Bay State Harbor (south of Cheboygan) is a beautiful and little used marina. We slipped our sailboat there several years. Grounds and bath house are meticulously maintained. The only downside is there is nothing close by, no gas, no groceries, restaurants, etc. Rogers City is another great marina in that area and it is right in town.
