C-Dory Stolen in Seattle 2/8/04

Our 16-foot cruiser named Scout was stolen from a locked yard in Seattle (Ballard), sometime between Sat 2/7 10 p.m. and Sun 2/8 8 a.m.
The trailer was also locked (they cut the chain).
If you see Scout, please call Seattle Police (911 or 206-684-0850).
Scout is white with dark green trim. She has (had) a 40 hp Honda and a 5 hp Honda. The swimstep is custom-made.

With this network of C-Dory owners your prospects of recovery should be improved. Hope it is located soon!
If you have any pictures of it, you should post them on this site.
 
If you get me the hull and motor(s) ser.#, I will pass them on to our CD dealer here in Portland so they can watch out for you. Sorry this has happened to you. Jon

I'm so sorry Scout has been stolen. And just how does someone get into a locked yard and steal a boat? That takes a lot of nerve. You've only had Scout since it was the 2003 Boat Show display vessel. Man, I just don't want to believe that happened. Your faithful little cove-poking, text-updating critter missing. I bet we find her.
 
A distinctive boat + many eyes on the look out, me thinks the thieveing scum sucking swines will be caught. posting a hull number and a pic would be great.

I will keep a close eye on the Olympic Peninsula. I'll pass the word to the Sheriff Dept. marine divison and also tell all my fishing pals. If it comes this way, we're going to find it. So sorry to hear this news, I can only imagine.

By all means post the hull number. It's no problem to be just like eveyone else that comes up to our boats and says..."Oh, what a cute little boat" and then start looking around. If we have the hull number we can pull the same act, and without any problem read the hull number on the transom....then they'll be busted!

Any of you with green trim 16's are going to be scruitinized! :smilep

Hi Migael, Bill and All,

Perhaps it wasn't there earlier but if you look at Migael and Bill's profile now you'll see the Hull Number, CDO15460A303. The important part is the 460 in the middle (the first three letters are for C-Dory Marine and all C-dory's are labeled the same (except for the earlier boats), the '15' is the model (in this case a so-called 16-footer) and the A303 on the end is primarily a date code; so if you are eyeballing numbers look for the 'serial' number in the middle, which is 460 on this hull (faster to read this way too).

I'll alert Mike Connor, our Honda Area Sales Manager; he can relay a message to area Honda dealers about your stolen BF40 (and boat)...can you provide me with the serial number of the engine? (either here or privately...see my profile). Unfortunately the engine may be separated from the hull and having that info out to the Honda dealers would be good. I'd like this info on the BF5 kicker as well.

I'll also post the information about Scout on the front page of our website; I'm happy to say it's visited often and especially when folks are looking to buy. This may alert someone who's seen the boat. I'll also post a photo if you can put one here or send one to me.

Further, if there are any distinguishing features on the boat please post the details (something that catches the eye versus other green CD16 Cruisers).
