I haven't added a picture to my album for quite awhile and can't seem to find the add photo link. Looked for a "contact us link to the site but came up short there too. Any hoo, I made a whirlygig after my c dory 22 and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I took a short video and posted it on my Facebook page if anyone wants to see it in action. If you can get it in my album that would be great too. Thanks, Gary Fairbrother

Now this took some doing....

Is it possible that in a former life - before retirement - you went by the username Fairbroon here? That guy has a link to your album.

If you forgot the password I can reset it for you and let you go back to your old self, excepting the having a job part.

It would be most wonderful to have my old user name and album custody back. However given the state of our country, economy, and ecology I would not trade places with any 30 year old on the face of the earth. Thanks for your help and promptness!

OK then, PM with your new temporary password is on the way (we can't see what your old password was, but we can change it).

Sorry , just assume you are dealing with a complete idiot. I saw a new message waiting, clicked on it and found no message. Please explain what to do after clicking on new message. I was expecting a password to use when logging on with my old user name.

A Whirligig is an object (often a cut out) which spins or whirls in the wind--maybe just us old guys know about those things....You often see them in gardens (or in front of Flower shops in Florida--where many of us old guys live)

I emailed the message with the login info. It was sent thru the site so it will go to the email address you used to set up this account.

Great wihrligig! Looks a bit more complex than many--and shows a lot of thought and work! Brings a smile to the face and a laugh to the belly--as any good whirligig should

If someone could design a whirligig with a C-Dory rockin' through the chop, it would sell like hotcakes to the C-Brat family members.

Trick would to design and build it so that it could be easily reproduced without a tremendous amount of detailed hand labor.

Heck, go one step further, and make it charge your batteries, too!

Well I got the video in my album. It doesn't show on photo activity yet but maybe it will later... thanks to all for the help!

I don't know if it's just me, but when I got to your album (last page, last "photo"), I just see a static black and white illustration of a movie camera, with a caption saying it's a whirligig video. I don't know if we can actually put videos in our albums though. Any chance you could post a still photo? I'd like to see it!

Sunbeam,
Go back and try again, I clicked on the movie camera and waited and the video loaded and played.

It is really cool. :)

I sandwiched several layers of hobby grade basswood that I patterned off of the profile drawings from the factory. It took quite a long time because it was design build. I need to back in and re-construct in a trial and error method with a project like this. It's still not done as I need to put on the bow and roof rails as well as anchor light etc. the little captain rocks with the motion too but it's hard to see in the video. Thanks for the kind words!

That C-dory whirligig is really cute. Do you have any still photos of it? I think I'd like to try making one later. As for my twin bath one, I actually had plans for that. However I've made a few others for holidays from scratch. Always a lot of fun to watch them operate! Colby
