In news that shook the boating world today, Brunswick acquired all assets of C-Rats, Inc. from TyBoo and Da Nag for $4.27M. Additional terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed, but industry insiders have confirmed Da Nag was also provided with a pony, while TyBoo received an old trailer.

The buyout is not expected to escape all hurdles, though. When informed of the transaction details, disgruntled former partner Fed Rocks promised legal action.

"I am the original C-Rat, and that trailer should be mine!", exclaimed Fed.

The only rat I smell here - C or otherwise - is you, Nerdles! I happen to know that the buyout was for just over $6m and you pocketed the extra $1.8m. It might just be a class-action, buster, if we can muster up any class.

I want my fair share!

2757 posts or 4.1% of the total = $256,000 cash and a "CB-$$$" burgee to boot, right after we agree on the design.

You guys can keep the pony, trailer, and load of horse________!

Joe.

You guys out west have to be smoking more than BBQ.... I leave the site for a few days and whammy.... now I gotta read all the post since last visit to see what all is up... rats, messmer,.... don't tell me my little tatter head buddy is p-o'd again???

Ha! On a bit of insider information, I sold Bild Wlue and bought up as much cRats stock as I could afford. With this new development, I am rich - dirty stinkin' filthy rich! We considered taking our gain and buying one of those classy bubble boats that are shaped like a bowling pin... instead, we decided we are going to go back to work and give up this boating crap. Got a nice job offer in northern North Dakota out on the tundra.

Oh, and by the way, we are having BIG fun moving my Mother-in-law. She is very patient and non-demanding. This moving stuff is so much fun that (if we don't take the North Dakota gig) we will probably move in with the old gal and just move her furniture around from room to room for the fun of it. This sure beats waking up to a sunrise on the water. We're really learned to enjoy the city traffic, too.

See ya,
Jim B.

You only THINK "Proud Member of the Brunswick Family" is April Foolsy! The Lathamized C-Dory company must be angling to be acquired by Brunswick, what other reason could there possibly be for the 20 C-Dorys lined up along side I-5 like RVs or (shudder) Bayliners???? "Oh, honey, shall we get the green one or the blue one?" News flash to C-Dory - NOT how people buy C-Dorys...

That's funny that the name Brunsw**k should appear. I was reading an article in the Business section this morning about the acquisition of C-Dory by Brunsw**k. The article stated that once the aquisition is final, the Bayl**er nameplate will become history and the boats built by Bayl**er will be re-branded as C-Dory!

Art Vandelay, the vice president of marketing and communication for Bayl**er made the following observations: "For years we have noticed that the boats built by C-Dory are highly regarded for their design, construction, and excellent resale value. By re-branding our boats, we hope to develop a better image for the boats that we build. I am personally tired of going to cocktail parties at the yacht club and the tennis club only to hear snide remarks about our boats."

It was a shock to read this this article, but not a total surprise in this business climate of aggressive mergers and acquisitions. I will keep you posted as I learn more about this story. In the meantime, if you think this is not for real, check the date on your calendar.

Best Regards,
Leo
