Chain attachment at bottom of anchor

Has anyone attached their chain to the base of an anchor such as a Bruce or CQR (plow) style in the same manner that is used with the Columbia style river anchors? Zip ties or wire hold the chain to the end one would normally attach to, but would break off with a vertical pull, thereby pulling up from the anchor bottom if it was fouled. Something I want to try, so we have less of a chance of loosing an anchor. Also saw a device on YouTube called an "Anchor Saver" that uses a simular technique. Any thoughts.....
 
I would rather buy an occasional anchor than try to get a good nights sleep depending on a zip tie for the integrity of my anchor set. If the boat veers due to a current or wind change a reset would be iffy. Might be OK for a lunch hook.
 
As I have said before, with thousands of nights at anchor; I have never lost an anchor. I have used a trip line several times--one once it was caught in a commercial boat's prop, and the anchor tripped--plus I lost my float (clearly labeled "trip line"). Several other times, boats have come along and picked up the float, thinking it was a mooring--despite labeling.

I want to sleep well at night at anchor--and zip ties, or other devices don't allow for that.
 
In the last 35 years of boating we had to cut one anchor line and that was in the Ohio river where there is all kinds of junk under water that can trap an anchor and not let it go. I agree with the others, I wouldn't feel safe with an anchor that could be released by accident.
 
Like Bob, I want to sleep well at night when anchored, so no sip ties or the like & use an oversized anchor & when forced to use a bottom that could be a problem a trip line with float. I've moved more than once during the middle of the night but it wasn't for fear of the anchor not holding.

Those using that system on the Columbia are anchoring for fishing, not sleeping. Although I have seen some pretty intense fishermen, I think they would notice slightly before their boat stops short on a lee shore. Personally if I zip tied my anchor like that, there would be so many zips on it, it would never break loose, so don't think I'll try it. I do carry a small fender and line for a trip line, and a short, heavy section of chain for a messenger if needed.
