Connectedness

Excuse me if this is just sappy, but I just wanted to say how connected I feel to all of you through C-Brats, those of you I have had the fortune to meet face to face, as well as those of you I only know through your posts here...this is truly an amazing family, and I count myself so fortunate to be part of it all.

The feeling's mutual, Pat, glad you said it. Funny, when we're at get-togethers and someone asks how we met, we quickly say "over the Internet!"

Yes, Pat, I've said several times before that we're like a a big family and that's why I sometimes make some pretty personal remarks trying to be funny in helping pass the social banter while answering technical questions. One couldn't do this kind of stuff in a less familial environment.

For a real eye-opener, go over to The Hull Truth website and see just how rude some folks can be!

Joe.

Hey Pat - I feel the same way. Now speaking of connectedness.... it's been a week, we toasted you at Lopez, WHERE THE H$LL are the wedding photos. Some of us have to see what you look like in a suit....

I might say be careful what you ask for! But here you go! Us, high above the Pacific at Slide Ranch on California 1, the Coast Highway, for Barrett's and Laurie's wedding. They are honeymooning, and I don't know when we will see the "official" photos. A perfect day in a perfect spot, could not have been better!

Yes, Pat, sappy but true. While sitting around a great C-Brat community meal at Lake Powell, we all recounted how this group has brought us together.

Having no internet for a week was tough for this boy... I really missed you guys! We have had the opportunity to meet some great people... and that would not have happened without the internet, this special place, and the link that brings all these unique personalities together.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

You clean up pretty good! Sorry you could make Lopez. Looking forward to the "official photos".

Wow, when I saw this title and the picture of Pat and Patty, I got all excited and thought they had finally gotten married :cocktail :cocktail .... Oh well, maybe next year!

We'll miss you all again this year at Langford Bay!

Yes, indeed. We host a number of boaters at our home. One of the gentlement told us that he was chastized by his teenage son for staying at the home of someone he "met over the internet".

Pat,

You said it brother. I remember the first time Caryn and I met you (and Patty) at Lopez 2005, your first words to us were:

"At these gatherings, you'll meet your new best friends." How true.

It is pretty funny afterall. I'd never let my daughter sleep at the house
of someone she met on the internet. Of course, she is only seven.

Pat and Patty --

So glad that the wedding went so beautifully and the weather co-operated. Congrats to all of you in the family and a special hug for the newly wed couple.

And no -- Pat -- there's nothing "sappy" about telling friends how much they mean to you -- we all do that too rarely -- and you guys -- and the folks on this site -- are VERY special to us as well.

Glad you made this post Pat. I have liked everybody I've ever met with the c-brat crowd.
It look's like the Anderson family had a great day! Congratulations!

For the truly masochistic, here is a link to a 17+ minute video of the wedding ceremony and reception...officiating is the Rt. Rev. Conor Hamilton, daughter Lydia's boyfriend, and I do the toast at the reception.

All this talk of weddings and friends is getting me all misty-eyed... :cry

Congrats, Pat and Patty...I'm sure the memory of that day will be cherished by you two for years to come.

We've no kids, but a few nieces and nephews. Outside of my own marriage, perhaps the best day of my life is captured in a few shots below from last year...my niece and her terrific husband.

I "retired" after my one and only ceremony.
