Greetings to all. We have a wacky (?) idea and we need as much input as we can get: We're considering downsizing from our current 22' cruiser to a 16' cruiser or angler. We've absolutely loved the 22, but we're thinking of changing to trailer storage and launching, which in our case would be much easier with the smaller boat. There must be a few members who have upsized, maybe one or two who have downsized and can advise us on the relative merits ot both boats. We never camp/cook/sleep on the boat, but simply use it to cross Rosario Strait to our cabin, and for occasional whale watching day trips. Now that the kids are getting older and the cabin is nearing completion we anticipate less future need for space in our boat. We would put the boat on the hook in the Summer months, then trailer store it at the cabin the rest of the year. Because we've had such good luck with the 22, however, we don't want to do something we regret later. Here are a few of our questions: How does the 16' handle weather/waves relative to the 22? How many adults can comfortably fit into the 16 for day cruising without overloading or extreme discomfort? What are the functional differences between the 16' angler and cruiser models; which can be loaded more easily, etc. I value the input from our members and would appreciate any input I can get. Cheers! Mike on Westward
