COVID-19 need to laugh?

I realized that the border is closed, but vessels can sail directly thru Canadian Waters to AK, if they do not put ashore. The qualifier could be all in US waters, and then start from Port Townsend instead of Victoria--and I suspect that the organizers had already thought of that.

If they had to put ashore due to equipment failure etc: then this is a vessel (?) in distress and the urgency has to be recognized by international law.
 
Yes, the race itself may go on, but... for those of us who camp at one of the campgrounds and then throng the start to spectate and cheer the participants on, that will likely not happen.

Just to be perfectly clear.....my intent in posting the image above was totally about humor. This thread is devoted to finding humor while under the thread of Covid-19 (note title of the thread). I thought this image someone sent to me qualified. (BTW, as with all humor, there is always an element of irony.)

Actually, I think the opposite. Presidents have to encourage and provide HOPE. Your President is attempting to do just that.
