Decorating disaster

Does everyone but me know that decorating your boat (especially with silk flowers) can lead to staining of the gel coat. If not, I want to warn everyone that while it is not incurable it sure makes for a lot of hard work if those decorations get wet. It looked like someone threw a bucket of red and blue paint on the roof of poor Minnie after the 4th of July rain storm. The stain went deep into the gel coat but I was able to remove it with several applications of soft scrub with bleach. The sun has eliminated the faint shadows left after I gave up. I then pollished with "3M Finess It" to restore the shine. It would be a lot easier to use plastic flowers if you must. Always test products by pre wetting on your dock box.
