Differences between 2007 and 2017 25 Cruiser.

I have to agree about esthetics of the flooring. It truly makes a difference visually. Maybe it is just the difference between Tupperware and a mahogany jewelry box.

One thought on the breaker panel. If you find you are starting to turn the switch's on and off with your legs getting in and out of the settee, you may have to build a little plexiglass protection panel over it.

I do like the flooring too. Very pleased so far. I will use the boat as a little cruiser for adventures not a fishing machine so I'm fixing it up as a mini-yacht :smiled

I'm wondering about the switches too... will report back after a two week cruise in May.
 
One mistake I think I did make was getting the extra windshield wiper for the center opening window. It won't open all the way now so I may take it off. And it was not cheap :cry:

I love this forum! I was just about to order a center wiper but prefer having the center window open all the way. I will stay with Rain-X treatments. Thank you Ken!

When I saw the position of that switch panel/fuse box, my first thought was not "Brilliant" :idea: :shock:

More like :?: :arrow: :twisted: :disgust :cry

A cover will be needed for sure, but why not put it in a protected spot, or inside a cabinet or up and out of the way. Seems like that would be a perfect place to scratch an itchy calf, rub a tote box on, get kicked by an errant foot, have the boat cat rub it's chin on, catch a PFD strap loop or bump your head and leave a mark as you are passing out from laughing at the stupidity of lack of practicality planning for placement of priority items. :wink:

Have to give C-Dory credit for trying, but that would have been an easy C-BRATS thread entry, for a "users poll". (Like listing 3 options.)

Another difference is the gas cap and there is only one access. My '07 had one on each side. Was nice to vent once side while fueling the other.

I have the same location for the fuse panel switch on my 2011 CD-25 and find the location quite handy. I turn off the main breaker whenever I hook up shore power. Yes....you can turn off switches with your leg and it would have been nice if the factory had put on a clear plastic cover. It's easy to make one. I copied one that I found on this site. My 2011 also has the berth hatches...very nice.

I'm not sure if the factory is offering an AirHead option but it's sure nicer than hunting down your next pump out for the holding tank.

That's an interesting fuel cap. I like the fact that its easy to open and keyless; I dont like the fact that it's not flush with the deck and only on one side.

I guess its one of those "you can't have your cake and eat it too" situations.

I could see myself breaking a toe on it or bruising my arch and I agree on the one side issue. I've used both/either to fill.

I agree, Not Flush, Bad Idea.

I don't mind needing the key. On a 22 I have a fill on each side, but then there are 2 tanks, one on each side.

Guess you just can't please everybody all the time.

That may very well be so, but if the factory is thinking about that tyoe of chage, how hard would it be to put a poll up on the ste and see what the owners and users prefer? My guess, it's a financially based decision. Easier to do, less tank plumbing involved, fewer parts, and less time in the process, but that just my guess :wink:

It is my understanding that the USCG does not permit gas vents on the sides of boats anymore. I suspect the new type of gas filler port has a built in vent under the cap. I have used one in the past and had problems with gas flying up in my face when adding gas from a five gallon can with rolling seas.

Government is the problem not the solution. It did the same to me.

NMI did not skimp building this boat. They did a first class job!

To comply with CARB & EPA requirements for USCG safety standards July 31, 2011. They are referred to as VOPR caps(vacuum/over pressure release). I have a pic of the fill neck vent and the back of the cap in my album. The cap allows air in to prevent a vacuum and on a hot day when the fuel expands it allows air to escape to prevent fuel tank pressure.

I just spent 3 days and two nights on the new boat. WOW. I could not be happier!

The 200 Yamaha was worth the extra $$ in my humble opinion. 33 knots at 6,000 RPM on flat water.

Windshield wiper on center window prevents the window from opening all the way but I'm keeping it as I really like being able to clear the window.

NMI really really did a quality job building the boat.

Although they did cross up the wires on the windless. Up went down and down went up. I looked at the back of the switch in the v-berth and reversed the wires and fixed it. I was really proud of myself as I'm not that handy :D

I'm so glad I bought new. Very very happy!

P.S. The Garmin autopilot is sooooooooooooooooooo nice!!!! Best option I bought.
 
Thats great Ken. Yeah, I agree about having the bigger motor. I have a 200 Suzuki and thought it was overkill at first but now I love it.

Enjoy the autopilot! Im still contemplating about buying one.....
