Looks great! Also very practical changes.
I have always wondered why the use of red flags with white diagonal stripe is used mostly in they USA, and the rest of the world uses the Alpha code flag (White / Blue swallow tail flag)??
As I read the California laws, the Alfa flag is required in state waters, but when free divers are down, the red stripe flag is allowed on the boat.
Some states require the Diver down red/white stripe flag on the water (float). Florida and Alabama mandate it. Florida requires that the diver down red/white strip flag have dimensions at least 20" x 24" when flown on a boat. California does not appear to mandate it. Do you have a batten to allow the full field of the red/white stripe flag be more visible? This is required in Florida. Also there is no agreement as to how far other vessels should stay away from a diver down flag. Federal is:
Federal and international laws require a one meter (3.3 feet) on the hoist Alfa (Alpha) flag be flown which is visible in all directions from a vessel deploying divers. (Rule 27 d.)e) ) of navigation rules) Maine is one state which requires the Alpha flag be flown. The day shapes for larger vessels are similar to dredging, and the night light signals are Red over white over red.
