Eagles beat Giants

..or as we would say in central Jersey "da Iggles beat da Gints". When my kids were young I would send them out on a Sunday afternoon to count how many antennas were turned toward Philly vs. how many were turned toward NY. I've always been a fan of the Eagles, a fan of McNabb and a fan of his mom who did TV commercials showing her feeding Campbells Soup (made in Camden) to the team in the locker room. So far, it's a good "year" for Philly's sports. Oh yeah, and eat your soup!

The Campbell's soup plant was a couple of blocks away from my alma matter, Rutgers Law School - Camden (which was almost right under the Ben Franklin Bridge to Philly)...there was always a wonderful aroma of tomatoes in the air!

When I was a kid in the late 30's my mom would get us to eat our soup by telling us the story of "Farmer Campbell". According to mom, it was the depression and he didn't have enough money for seeds. Some guy came to the farm with some really cheap seeds. They were cheap because they were all mixed up in a sack and he didn't know what they were. Well, Farmer Campbell bought them, planted and grew them and made Campbell's Vegetable Soup. The rest is history, Now just one more spoonfull.
Someday I'll tell you about Oceanspray Cranberry Juice, Breyer's ice cream, and, if your good, M&Ms.
