Has anyone cut away the port side of the entrance to the V Berth on the CD 25?
The 25 seems to about about 2" more diagnal sleeping room more than the 22, but it is still a bit "cramped" for some of us over 70 to get in and out of the "door". We find that the large entrance of the TC 255 is easy to get in and out of the bunk, plus with a cushion on the floor in front of the navigators (port side) seat, one has 6' 4" directly fore and aft.
It seems that this area could be safely cut away on the 25 without causing any structureal weaking. Anyone done it? If so, how does it work out?
We will probably be doing this--unless some one has a good reason why we shouldn't. We may glass this bulkhead to the side of the hull (as it is in the TC 255), and re-inforce it--plus put a "crash bar" for the navigator to hang on too.
