Ihave a report for all the c-brats..In march we bought a ford f-150 with the new 3.0 diesel. So after a couple thousand miles driving and a few hundred towing here is what we know. Mpg highway is 25.5 (4wd in 2h and eco mode). towing a 6500.00 lb trailer gets 14 mpg.back and forth 22 mpg. We bought one with a lot of towing bells and whistles and 3.55 axle.rated at 11600.00 with equalizer hitch and 17200.00 all inclusive load. What I see and feel I wont hesitate to tow my cd-25. Transmission is a 10 speed with 5 modes normal, tow haul, snow, eco, and sport. So far we are happy. let the comments begin

Easily beats our F250 (6.0 liter). I'm getting 18 freeway, with cruise control @ 70 mph and about 12 mph towing the boat/trailer (25 Cruiser). Our average is in the mid-high 16's.

14K capacity on our truck with no equalizer required though.

Thank god I have a work car...that I commute and work in...

Local Boy: I felt your pain last tow vehicle was 08 silverado 2500. Stiff suspension and what you describe for mpg.

A Prius. Leaf or Volt they are not...

If we didn't have the boat, I would not have the 3/4 ton diesel. I don't need it. I have a car hauler, but I'm planning on selling that upon retirement. If the trailer-able boat went, so would the Ford. Right now, we have no plans on up-sizing.

I'd like a pretty new truck, but at $60K plus, that ain't gonna happen.

f350 with v10 1999=8.7 mpg empty, 8.2 mpg towing the 27ft Dory. it just does not matter if I take the boat or not so I just take the boat everywhere. drive thru at wendys is a bitch but I get to eat lunch on the back deck;)

We get about 13.5 mpg out of a Ford Expedition with a 3.5 eco boost towing a cd23. About 5200lb we get about 18around town and 25 mpg on hwy without the boat .
