FCC and their relationship to "lightsourced"

Here is the status of Broad band over power lines from the American Radio and Relay League (hams need to support this organization).

"ARRL had taken the FCC to federal court over the content of its BPL rules. In April 2008 the court remanded the BPL rules back to the FCC. In November 2011, in response to the court's order, the FCC issued a 2nd Report and Order that essentially affirmed the rules it had originally written, with only minor change. ARRL has filed a Petition for Reconsideration of this new Report and Order as its next step to try to get the FCC to write good rules that address the serious interference potential that comes from putting broadband HF and VHF signals onto power lines."

The whole story can be found at:

The reading of utility meters is a bit different type of technology than the broad band over power lines.

Unfortunately filing Chapter 11 does not stop Light Squared from still perusing their goal of using the spectrum. There are still some powerful people who are invested in the company, and we cannot let our guard down and assume that the issue is "Deal"....

Well for right now I don't think this dog is going to hunt. Good luck finding new investors. I guess they thought it was a sure thing. Big contributions and then pulling the bankruptcy lever, class act. I bet we have not seen the last of this deal. They just need some more seed money to get the ball rolling again. :disgust
