My Garmin 160 blue depth/fishfinder is malfunctioning and I need to replace it.
so the big question is what should I replace it with???
I need one that is good for fishing, being able to see the clouds of shrimp on the bottom and what not.
I have heard good things about Lorwrance.

here in the Everett to Edmonds area we have a lot of deep water and it is not uncommon to be fishing in 400 to 600 ft of water.
we shrimp in 250 to 320 ft of water.

I am real happy with my Lorwance HD7 If I had to replace it I would probably up grade to the bigger screen HD11 Maybe even go with the side scan option.
 
I will also give a thumbs up to the lowrance hds models. That is what I want to get for the second station on the 27. but I have a raymarine dx 400 I would sell you for $50 bucks or maybe a hookup on some geese shooting? I dont have the transducer for it or the bracket just the screen but I know it works. I have a dx500 on the boat know and used the same power and transducer to test it.
