fishing for the blind. My Puget Sound Angler chapter helps with this great event every year. I did it last year and had a blast. This year I will be at susans 20 yr highschool union, I like em young, so cant attend. I hope that some of you here can make it. below is a copy of a post from the PSA web site.

" The Derby for the Blind, September 16, is coming fast and we need volunteers for it. Needed are boats, skippers with a deckhand, and equipment. They provide participant, sack lunches for all, dinner, and raffle prizes.
Please contact me if you are interested. The club will probably be sponsoring the dinner again. "

all this is done thru the lions club of everett.

bringing this to the top agian. Its a great event with a dinner at the end and lots of prizes. It will really make you feel good at the end of the day. Its never to late to sign up.

Tom - I'd love to help out but I'm out of town through Sunday - when the dates for next year are available, please let me know and I'll mark it off on the calendar well in advance.

thanks roger, I really like to help these guys and there is another group that I am thinking of helping thru my club or maybe thru this one if enough people are willing to do it. maybe winter blackmouth or sockeye on the lake would be a good time. I have to set aside enought time to work on it. It will be a take a wounded vet fishing event. Lots to work out on that one.

I'd be happy to help with that too. Both winter blackmouth and sockeye can be iffy propositions though. I usually do pretty well early in July for that first batch of so called resident coho (I still believe this is just an early run of small fish). Also, if we get another king season next year, that would be great. For my $'s though, if I'm going to go out of my way to take someone truly deserving fishing, I'd really like to have great odds of getting them on fish - like Neah Bay in August or Sekiu in Sept.

That would make it harder to manage but it would be better fishing. Also, another thing to consider would be setting up some kind of "match maker" service where different people could go out at different times to different places. This might result in more total people being involved relative to a fixed date for an activity as it would allow more flexible and individual scheduling. Just a thought.

We have kicked the around the Match maker idea, but the guys I am thinking of working with have no transport or lincesne. if we do a group event the army will provided both. So It will take a little work to get this going and right know I donet have it. So Iam looking to do something in the next year. Sockeye does not getting any more surething, just crowded.
