Fishing in Masset BC.

I am planning a fishing trip to Masset Bc in the summer of 2016. I have most of the details worked out, but I have been unable to contact the Delkatla Slough Harbor Authority by phone or e-mail. I had a question in regards to mooring my boat there. I have information from the resort that I will be staying at that you can moor for a fee but they do not take reservations. Does anyone have first hand experience with mooring at this facility? My main concern is that you are rafted up and doing boat combat and that does not appeal to me, I would prefer a slip.

Regards,
Dan

Sorry I can't help you with any information Dan but your trip looks interesting. Are you planning on boating over from the mainland or is there a ferry that goes across?

I will be taking the ferry from Prince Rupert to skidgate. I could do it from Prince Rupert but the group decided to forgo the 80 mile trip having not traveled that kind of distance solo before. If we were buddy boating with someone else it would have been a nice cruise.

I just google earthed Masset BC and it looks like there is two set ups there. One dock with two fingers with individual slips, but not many of them. And another dock with two long fingers with a lot of boats rafted up.

Wandering Sagebrush,
I have spoke with Ken before on the subject and e-mailed him earlier this week but have not heard back from him as of yet. We have traded information on fishing areas for Ucluelet.

Try contacting the Haida Gwaii tourist information centre on the web. I have contacted them and obtained good information on fishing on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands).
Good Luck

Wapiti,
I will try that next, you would think that the port authority would have there act together. I have tried their e-mail address and by phone with no success at this point.
