We are having one of our many CBGTs (C-Brat Get Together) in Bellingham on the week-end of July 24th. You can click on the Events tab on the home page and see the 24 boats that are signed up so far.We would love to see you during the week-end. Or all week-end. The following week-end there is a CBGT in Nanaimo.

Wait just a cotton pickin' minute here-l have to take exception to the out of hand dismissal of the 16 cruiser. Sure, it needs a Permatrim. OK, that's a $100 fix, and believe me, if I can install it, anybody can. Sure, there is a good market for used anglers- mostly because they are bought as second "get me on the water with no hassel" boats. If I had a 25 footer I would want an Angler too. And, If I had an Angler, I probably wouldn't set about to cut away half the helm so it's more like a Cruiser. Some of us, believe it or not, only have one boat and we like to overnight on it occasionally without ripping up the interior or purchasing a camper back. The cruiser lets me do it comfortably from day one. Finally, the cruiser has more head room in the cabin, which is nice. Whether the new owners continue to build the Cruiser or not is, of course, up to them. I got mine, it's paid for, and it ain't for sale. See ya at Langley. :roll:

I'm very happy with my 22 cruiser also. I just think of the 23 Venture hull as a new and improved 22CD. It's almost the same darn hull as the 22 just slightly larger and with some design improvements. To me the fit and finish difference between the 23 Venture and the 22CD were designed essentially to justify carrying to very similar hulls in a single manufacturing line. That could easily be accomplished with one hull and differences in trim level. If you accept that premise, which on of the two hulls would you keep? The old design or the new and improved design? To me it seems obvious that 23 venture hull is a slightly better design than the 22CD- not a vast improvement but better and that's why I would keep it. My guess is that if the 23 Venture was offered with 2 levels of trim -one like the current 22CD and one like the current 23 Venture, very few people would opt for the 22CD.

Venture hulls are superior to the CD hulls in design. They're a little bigger, have a slightly better hull entry, I like the changes in the motor well and the cleats at a 45 degree angle. In brief, the Venture hulls seem to be improved in several ways (and in ways that many of us had suggested in the past).

My god it finally happened :shock: Roger and I agree on something completely. Now if I could get him to throw away those nasty scotty releases we could go fishing.

OK, guys, no one has said anything about discontinuing any models. We have no idea if the ink is dry on the contract; Jeff has checked in here to let us know that our beloved boats have a place in the Sea Sport family. Let's not scare the guy off with our enthusiasm. :wink:

I remember looking at the Sea Sports at the Seattle Boat Show when we ordered Wild Blue... nice boats. I just spent some time on their website - looks to me like any/all of the C-Dory line will compliment the boats they currently build. Good business decision. So, instead of hitting them up for vouchers/discounts/parties, let's recommend/send buyers their way so they can afford all this stuff. 8)

I was just shooting my mouth off on what I think makes good sense. You wouldn't expect anything less would you? :lol: Be careful though, I might start spouting off my opinions on cats (not Brock's cat but all others) :wink: .

I've spent a lot of time around cats. When I was a kid we always had cats. At one point in time we had 3 female cats that all got pregnant at the same time. Each one gave birth to 6 kittens. So we had 18 kittens and 3 adult cats. It's very difficult to find 18 friends when you've got 18 kittens to give away! I know that cat's don't really give a dang what a human thinks. That's both their appeal and their bad side.
Everyone wants to be like a cat - aloof without a care in the world, only willing to take affection on their terms etc.

These days, I much prefer my dog to a cat. The dog at least gives me the impression that he always needs me and always loves me. No matter how desperate that makes him look, it makes me feel better. Perhaps I'm simply not secure enough to have a cat for a pet anymore. :lol:

I see that you joined on 5/29, so you had a couple of weeks to lurk and absorb what us crazy/opinionated C-Brats were all about before the news came out about the new ownership changes. Like many others on this site, I've always admired the Sea Sport vessels and more than a few times, others on the water have mistaken our C-Dory for a Sea Sport because of their similarities.

Over the years as we'd drive up the Guide & look up the driveway to the Sea Sport plant, Joe would comment that it'd sure be nice if C-Dory would move to Bellingham. Now it's happening :thup

PS: After we'd sold the old 22 CD Angler we found a used 19 Sea Sport for sale out on Hwy 20 in Anacortes. No one was home that day & by the time we returned a week later, it'd sold. So almost a Sea Sport owner but very happy with our 19 C-Dory :thup

I've been reading some of the posts and I feel that I should answer a few questions.

Our immediate intent is to get operational. This just means moving everything from Auburn to Bellingham. This is a big task, but we hope to be substantially done by next week.

Once we catch our breath from that we will start building boats as close as possible to how they have been built. This will give a starting point or a sort of baseline to work from. We don't have any intentions on eliminating models at this time. I'll need feedback from dealers and customers before any of those big decisions are made. We don't plan on any changes in options, features or construction either. Those are generally made at model year change if we do any.

I have been contacting the dealer network and have had some great conversations. Everyone so far has been extremely encouraging and optimistic about the transition. I am looking forward to getting to know them all better. Hopefully I can gain some good insights for the future.

not my buisness but if you want to talk to a dealer that really understood how to sell c-dorys and the people that are attracted to them, Then you need to call Les at E.Q. harbor service. Just my one 2 cents. No I dont have change :wink:

As others have said, welcome to the greatest boating fraturnity known!

I know your plate is pretty full right now but my reply to the thread is a request:

We Brats who live in the upper midwest (Great Lakes) region have lost our longtime and great C-dory dealer, Northwest Outlet in Superior WI. They were one of the very early dealerships, and did a great job until FM took over and started kicking them around. They sold their last inventory about a year ago and gave up the dealership as a result. They are great guys and I'll bet could be lured back into the fold by new factory management. Please try will you?
