Flying pest control

I have been meaning to boast about this produce for a while. Field tested in Prince William Sound Alaska, it really works; place it out on deck it takes care of any flying bug. There was a time when gnats were everywhere, like an attaching assault on the Triplej; the outer deck and surfaces were peppered with dead bugs. The only place where there was infiltration was out on the bow, but limited. Only problem I had was maintaining a flame on my first unit, took it back and exchanged for one that worked flawlessly. The mosquitoes can be viscous in the morning here, so I’d light it up and place outside early, took care of the pests.

We bought one of these for our travel trailer trip on the ALCAN highway last summer, but never saw a bug. Perhaps they work so good that just having it in the trailer put fear in the bugs!

I'm glad to hear they really do work. We will continue to carry it and hope we never have to use it!

I was wondering about the price and availability, so I googled it HERE, and found the price to run from $25-$30 on the net, along with some product reviews.

Had seen this product advertised, but thought it another gimmick, so thanks for the heads up. Have too been overrun by the mosquitoes, gnats, ect and have used so much deet in the past that its continued heavy use is a bit worrisome. Will have one of the Thermacell's with us this summer.

cbull---guess I'll find out what the beaked bitty birds here in Wyoming and up in Alaska think about them for myself. Definitely worth that much cash to me to find out. Have spent time in the South and way North and believe the North to have the edge in both numbers and aggression at least in flying biting bugs.

Observed one of these in action down on the Georgia coast several years back. Visited a fellow camper who had one and I wasn't bothered with a skitter, gnat or horse fly the entire evening.

The Captain has a simple program for skitter and gnat control. She turns on the flashlight to attract the pesty things and I hit 'em with a $1.00 fly swatter.
