First off, I like C-Dorys and stuff that's C-Dory specific. My list would include
Barkeepers Friend
Liquid Rollers
Reading about various C-Dory Owner Group modifications to the C-Dory
Bottom Paint alternatives for the C-Dory in fresh and salt water environments
C-Brat adventures into waters not traveled by the average boater
This C-Dory specific web site best of all.

Roger has said this to me two or three times. To date, nobody else has chimed in to support his position. Consequently, I don't take his view seriously. If he wants to listen only to C-Dory owners, he can choose to put me and other riff-raff on full ignore. If he manages to sway others to his elitist viewpoint, then I'll politely leave.
Regardless, this remains the best small boat forum in the internet and I intend to participate, especially since I'm dumb enough to own three small boats. I also intend to buy a Ranger in 5 years.

Therefore, it appears that we have many members who do not own a C-Dory. Also, I thought I read that one of the antagonizers sold his boat recently. Why is this guy being singled out?
The other point seems to be that this member participates. However, he seems to post mostly on the General Chat forum which, as far as I know, is open to most any civil topic, including other brand boats. This point was made clear by one of the antagonizers earlier this month.
So again I ask, why are we tossing out the "just be nice rule" and instead being rude to this guy?
Rob
Rob, my name is Don or, if you prefer, Sneaks, not "one of the antagonizers." I prefer my name, not a label.
Greg White, your comment is definitely uncalled for and IMHO just exacerbates a potentially combustable thread. It says more about you than Roger and me.
Dene, I have to disagree with you. This is a C-Dory Owners Group site that over time turned into
"the best small boat forum in the internet" primarily because of the active participation of the owners, not the general membership. On that subject yes, I am a Bigot. It was never a "small boat forum that happens to concentrate on C-Dorys" and I don't think any of the owners would disagree.
As for non owner postings? To say I'm against it is very much a wild assumption. The bulk of non-owner postings are either pre-purchase questions, rave reviews from rides they got from sea trials, or their genuine interest in mods owners have put forth. Why you were "picked on", Dene? I can only guess but it might have been prolific posts. There are very few non-owner posters with over 200 posts, none of which contribute to the body of specific C-Dory knowledge on this site. I've even seen hunting photos in other non-owner's posts and wondered what the poster was thinking. Do I think less of you because you don't own a C-Dory? Of course not. I simply disagree with your premise.
Oh, and Rob? Yes, I'm between boats again due to circumstance. Then again I've got a track record of mods - C-80/fuel flow and shore power among them so yer not gonna get me outta here easily.
One final note: Posting on this site is a benefit, not an entitlement. That only one or two posters have lost their benefits is a tribute to either Mike and Bill's tolerance level or the membership itself. I think it's a little of both.
