Never thought I'd be posting this...but we've listed the boat for sale. We've had a ton of fun on her, spent many weekends aboard and caught many fish. She's been fantastic.

I'll be retiring from the Coast Guard this fall, and this will put us in a better position to start the next chapter of our lives. There will probably be an Angler in our future.

So, for the first time in 10 years, we'll be boatless. It's just temporary, though. We aren't planning on going anywhere!

Rick

Rick, congrats on the up coming retirement. This old Marine says thanks for all you and your fellow Coasties do for us.

We're looking forward to seeing what the next boat will be.

Congratulations on the retirement--and service! I also know that once a C Dory owner, always a "C Brat"--and that there will be another C Dory soon.

Thanks, gents. It's been an interesting 25 years, that's for sure. The CG has been pretty good to me. I've been a part of some amazing things. Entering the civilian workplace after all this time is going to be a huge adjustment.

Hope you're enjoying the start of summer,
Rick

Rick,

Thank you for your service. You and your Coast Guard buddies are a comfort every time I launch the boat, just knowing the possibilities. Congratulations on the upcoming retirement and best wishes for the future there. You and Donna are always welcome on the SleepyC, and we could even try fishing.

Foggy Dew is a really nice boat and in good condition. And a proven fisher. Someone is going to get a prize.

Congratulations on your retirement, Rick. It seems like just yesterday you were looking to buy the Foggy Dew. I must be getting old.

Hi Rick,

I wanted to let you know that my wife and I have looked at your pictures of Foggy Dew many times. We have really admired your boat, and the craftsmanship of your work. You have made many upgrades to your boat, that we would like to make to ours. I was sorry to see that your boat is up for sale, but congratulations on your upcoming retirement. If you would not mind, I would like to contact you and ask you a few questions to better understand how you made some of the improvements to Foggy Dew. Let me know if you're receptive to that.

By the way, I am still somewhat of a novice on the posting of notes on C-Brats, so I hope you receive this note. I did not realize it, but I think I may have sent you a duplicate email note regarding this. before I saw the 'reply' button on this posting. Sorry for the duplication.
Regards,
Jack Howell

Thanks again, folks. You know, Al, none of us are getting any younger. I still have another year though, before I hit the big Five-Oh...lol

Thanks, Harvey, we'll get together sometime and get those downriggers of yours some good use.

Jack, That's what we're all here for...to share ideas. I sent you a PM.

Rick

You're just a baby Rick! Lots of great days ahead! I retired the first time, after 32 yrs in the USN at 49 years old in 1991. Been working ever since, retired again a couple of more times. This should be my last year of part time consulting hopefully! The dang fools keep paying me though and it's hard to let all that "toy" money go!

Congrats on retiring. It just gets better from here on out! Sorry to hear you sold your boat, I just did that too, but keep your eye on the next one.

Rick,

The fisherman that you are, you should be able to convert those interests shortly. They will be getting a fine tuned, and well trained boat.

Rick, do the antlers go with the boat?
Cathy and I had many good times hanging out with you two on lake martin. With all the improvements you guys have done.
There can't be a cooler '22 than the Dew 8)

I had some time to visit with Rick and Donna this afternoon, and Foggy Dew is still waiting to go to a new Brat home. This is a well trained, fishing machine with some really nice mods completed.

We have a sale pending, folks.

A big "Thank you" to everyone for the kind words and the interest in our boat. We've had so much fun on her and we're certain she's going to be enjoyed just as much by the new owners.
