ARG all...

Long winter ahead! I been working on my logs again (the web ones) LOL

The 1st part of the latest trip is now done!! (3 Boats 2 'Peeps) Even old Ma read it and helped get some of the "typos" out! It shouldn't be too nasty... go enjoy!

OUT.... *** :moon

Your welcome son...

Hey I am mindful of your questions you asked me earlier Ray... I just need to get a lot of stuff done right now, then I'll get back to ya on them. I'll "sound-off" here when I get the other half of the story completed...:disgust

I tried (again) to post it all-in-one, but it will not take much over 2-thousand words (per page) that story was about 3200-some words. They sure are rewarding to do! tends to make me a lot of "e-pals"

"life is good"--- sometimes!! :x

Greg "Stewart"  :D

Life is always good as long as you still fog the mirror. Just ask Mom!! And give her a big hug for me.

Best, and great, great writing. Makes me want to go back to AK.

Dusty, much thanx for that bit of wisdom...8) I know what your saying! and that one will be easy to re-call when I need it most :) Hugs in return friend!

I think were in for more rain here; I can't do roof maintenance when it's doin' that!!---so I might get that other half of the story done today! Gosh I'd like to get a chance at some "board activates" here.... some day... :embarrased

:disgust Announcement :disgust : Latest story --- now done!! And I am soooo sick of sitting in front of this dang-gum-puter!!
Out...

Nice pics Greg,

Thanks for sharing...

It has been pretty foggy down here lately as well.
Just finished an overnighter this weekend and was greatful for the radar.

Afraid not mate, gotta get me a camera for the boat.
This was a "Guy's night out" and the wife said the camera had to stay home... Not a bad idea in my opinion...
We sure had a great batch of Dutch Oven Stew... Elk, potatos, carrots, onion, beer... more beer.... Some Irish Hootch, more beer....
It was nice sitting around the fire and just relaxing for a change. I sure enjoyed my Force 10 Cozy Cabin heater that night. Snug as a bug in a rug. I think I need one of those vents though but I am nervous about having it leak when waves break over the bow...

My god! thats some fine living there Rayster! :smilep :beer :thup It's also neat to see someone is still getting out and about, but especially in our choice of craft :love

You know, if you go too small a camera like I did... chances are very high it won't live long (there just so tiny and light, you forget which pocket it's in, and it falls everywhere and gets sat on all the time :crook :disgust Had to send mine in for that reason... it still worked, but the screen got crunched and I could not see any of the camera functions. Got it back now, Pentax is extreemly slow in there service; took about 2 months to get it back from them. Hundred-fifity-bucks fixed-er up good-as-new! If you get it at "kits cameras" DO GET THE INSURANCE they offer. It is good for three years, and will cover anything and everything (accidents)

Then tiny little digitals take pro-quality pix, and are getting better and better all the time. I figured I did not need anything beyond "4-megs" and I don't for just a "point and shoot" I have printed out some really nice "tack-sharp" 8x11s I have framed! :)

My cabin vent, has never been a problem with waves breaking over the bow and hitting the cabin top where it is located. Only a few drops of sea-water get through! I can live with that. It's less than gets tracked in the door by your shoes.

Glad your happy with the "Force-10" I still am to! I can't believe the way they have come so far down in price over the years :disgust

RedFox/Greg: Great stuff on your site man. I have just spent about 2 hours reading and blowing up pics. You going to make it down to the Seattle Boat Show? Coming over from "the east side" to make that. I like your rods man, made with heart. Byrdman on FreeByrd, Montgomery, AL

Hi Gregg,

Very nice pics! Makes me feel relaxed and serene!

On the subject of water over the bow, I am gettting ready to install a windlass. I have had some concern about water over the bow coming in the hole for the anchor line. Is that a problem?

I have thought about carring some kind of foam that could be pushed into the hole to seal it somewhat if needed.

Hey! Well your all very welcome :D You know I really want off that "MSN Site" and on to a Yahoo one. I was going to do up a site similar to Halcyons :love (great job El and Bill :)
I like the Yahoo ones better, but getting around to it will be quite the challenge! The new one won't be a "chat site" I can't really be a very good host anyway :sad I suppose being the original "C-Brat" :moon  it can be in best interest to keep most the "chat" right here.
Sure would like to come down thata way for the boat show! Never know... we just might! There is a little sumthin I needed to go to Seattle for anyway, but I cant say right here LOL

Not at all! Though I still don't have a windlass on RedFox, I figure the wet-rope being wound-in has to drain out anyway. You probably won't need to even put any foam in the hole at all. If it is that rough... your probably gonna die anyway

Thanks for the reply Greg,

Sure glad to know that if it was that rough I wouldn't have to worry about about water comming in! :crook

I went back and looked at your pics and it looks like your carry your anchor rode on deck. I assume you tie it to the bow rail. Do you use any chain and what do you do with that?

Steve

:) Yes that's one thing I like about not having a 'windlass' is the fact that I keep all of that wet rope outside. I had to conclude for myself that it would contribute to some moisture in the cabin :|
Oh, I do keep it sort of 'lashed down' by simply bringing the chain to the deck cleat, and securing it that way. It's never been a problem, and it's very quick and simple! No straps or lashings needed. Not sure if I have a pic' of it or not, that shoes how is held in place?

I have invested some stainless chain :smilep (1/4) and about 20 feet! Extremely spendy, but so worth it :love my old galvanized chain was getting 'butt-fleabag-ugly' :crook and besides, the stainless chain is heavier than standard chain is anyway :thup  :D :smiled

ok... I'm otta-here. Gotta go wrench on some 'sleds' now
:thup :smile
