Fred Hall Fishing Show- Long Beach

I'll be there too, hopefully able to take Friday off to enjoy a less crowded day there.
Anyone else planning on being there on Friday?

Jeff

Friday is do-able, but I would prefer Thursday- even less of a crowd.
Show starts at 2:00pm on the weekdays. We could meet for lunch somewhere before the show.
How about it Bill? You know the area best- where's a good place to eat?

Hummm... Let's see... Sherryl and I fly into LA on 2March, and out at 3pm on 6 March.... Wonder how she would feel about flying home by herself, and me follow on a few days later???

Where is all of this in relationship to LAX? Anyone feel like a-dopt-a-brat?

Now..we are suppose to be out there to go "whale watching.." She aint never seen a real whale....other than once when I rolled over when we were down on the Gulf at Orange Beach/Perdido, AL. I will get a mission brief on her trip tonight...and get back with yall.

I am dying to meet all you local c-brats but TH is not working well for me with my work-week but I see it is working well for most, thus my silence. I think the majority should rule :)
But I will keep trying to meet up with you all somehow.

Byrdman, LAX is close to the show relatively and you are welcome to my home, but I live 100 miles away form the show. In Los Angeles speak, that is not far, believe it or not!

Jeff

thanks Jeff... Yep, have spent some time out there before...LA is large. Going to talk with Sherryl tonight....let her know of the CA gathering. Will post later tonight, or more likely in the morning after we finish some more house projects.... need to get her in that "sure you can stay and play with your boating friends while I go back home and go to work" mode.

Thursday-- Friday--Thursday-- Friday---- What the heck. Either day would work for me-- I just have to call in sick. Joel and Mike don't have to call in anywhere.
I think we can get this thing rolling.
Byrdman- come on out and check out the Condor for whale watching.

Hi Guys, there are many different great restaurants around the Long Beach Convention Center. You can easily walk to the Pike and Pine Ave. which both have many restaurants.

I can make it Friday or Sunday but work Thursday and Saturday. It would be great to get together for lunch or dinner after the show and talk boats. It would also be nice to put a face to a name. Be advised I don't have a C-Dory but a very simular boat. What I do share with many of you is a love of boats and a passion for spending time on the water.

For anyone considering flying in for the show, LAX is about 30 minutes away. Look on line and you maybe able to fly into the Long Beach Airport. It is obviously in Long Beach and only 10 minutes from the Convention Center. Jet Blue is one of the larger airlines that flies into Long Beach.

For any of you who haven't been to the Fred Hall show it is the largest fishing oriented boat show in Southern California. It is the closest thing to the SBS that we have. It is not nearly as big and is geared more towards fishing than cruising but there are many interesting boats and gadgets to check out.

I look forward to seeing any of you there.

Bill

Looks like Friday, March 9 should work for every one. Looks like we may have 6-7 guys? Great! :thup
Show starts at 2:00pm. We could meet at noon for lunch. It would be a good idea to get in the parking lot and buy the tickets early, then walk to lunch.

Sounds great Roger! I will be there. This will also allow me to drop off the C-Pelican for a service on the way to the show to get her ship-shape!

Hey Byrdman.... How about this...You fly out for the show, after the show I loan you SEA3PO (I'll even launch it for you) and you can take it to Catalina for a week or so.... Yer wife can always call in sick... (it's kinda the C-Dory wifes thing to do)....You'll love it...

Joel
SEA3PO

Byrdman.... How about I launch the boat at Santa Barbara, and you take it out to the Channel Islands...and see the Painted Cave... in March the weather out there is beautiful....plus staying in the Santa Barbara Harbor is a real treat... if there are whales to see in our channel is where they will be..

Joel
SEA3PO

Save the Whales....collect the entire set "Fishtales"

I am afraid the dreaded four-letter word "work" has forced me to change the day I can go to the show. I will have to go there Thursday instead of Friday now :(
