Hi Jim,

Sorry we missed you. Bahia Honda was one of our favorite places in the Keys. Besides the state park, you can catch a bus north or south (if you're going by boat and won't have a vehicle) to see other places. If you are towing, there is a decent ramp there in the park. Nice beach. Showers in the campground. Very relaxing.

Have fun!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Indeed! My favorite was strawberry cheesecake. Unlike any other ice cream counter, you pay first, before you order. So, you go to the ice cream counter, the person there sends you to the snackbar register... then he goes to that register and says, "Can I help you?" You pay, then go back to the ice cream counter; he walks back to that counter and says, "Would you like some ice cream?" Made me chuckle.

I was asked why ice cream is such an attraction when cruising... most of us with these boats don't have freezer capacity (we can make a few ice cubes and that's about it), so ice cream is a real treat. Especially if the weather is warm and you've been anchored out away from a store for a while. Of course, I consider ice cream to be one of the 4 basic food groups.
