Not sure, but to me it looks although the basic unit is the same with 3 options, that you have to choose between chemical, poop and go, or composting? You buy the basic unit and then $62? for the attatchment for bag or chemical..maybe none for the compost? You still have to cart the urine off every day or so? No ventilation, so anaerobic composting--maybe more odor? Uses wood chips, vs the coconut coir or peat moss etc. that most of the aerobic units use. Any reviews of use? No. It will not be available until July,

The company has other products which have been good, such as the hot water shower.

Way I read it is that you choose the configuration you want for one price. If you want a different or additional cassette, you buy that extra. 'Bout 1/4 the price of an Air Head or Natures Head. Doesn't seem to require a fan. Might not work as well in composting configuration though.

Both the Air Head and the Natures Head are very good Quality and are probably worth what people pay for them. They seem to have a good reputation.

This one looks it would work just fine. Probably cost them 20 or 30 bucks to make and they double there money. Cheap is just that cheap. There is something to be said about Quality too. The Quality one you buy it once and move on the cheap one maybe you'll catch on after you have had 3 or 4 of them. A 3 gallon bucket and a lid will work just good 10 bucks done.
 
Does anyone have pictures of a true composting head on a 22? I've searched and read what I could find on the forum, but haven't seen anyone successfully do it. I know they're quite tall, and wouldn't fit under the v-berth. I also saw a 22 last year on here sell with a full head inside the cabin. I've read many "what's wrong with a porta potti" posts plus, many "what's NOT to like about the composting toilets-- I have one on my 25 and it's amazing" (a sentiment shared by increasing numbers on the Rosborough owners group). I just have not seen anyone actually do it on a 22. Have you? Please and thank you for any information you can provide-- double please and thank you for pictures.

All of the "composting" toilets on the market are not true composting toilets. A more appropriate name would be desiccating toilets.

Composting of organic material usually requires the use of bacteria and the generation of a fair amount of heat.

What I'm trying to find out is something like an AirHead which has agitation, ventilation for aerobic activity, and uses coir or similar-- not just "separate the pee from the poo into a bucket and a jug". For the hassle, a Cleanwaste toilet would be far easier than that or a porta-potti, especially when paired with a good trash barrel, and travels ashore quite nicely when needed camping etc.. The bags aren't environmentally friendly, but maybe there's a case to be made for the toilet being made of less plastic than the larger units, and the total sum of "bag plastic" thickness mils over a lifetime of use etc.. Probably a tie. I just don't want to deal with a porta potti or marine head, and was hoping for a more "toilet like" installation than even my Cleanwaste which I used on my Sun Cat sailboat and is just sitting in the garage. Maybe someone found something that worked well enough, but I tried hard and couldn't find any successful posts, just questions. I suspect not, but it seemed worth asking.

Is this true? In our Air Head, we used coconut croi and added multiple extra bacteria, above those already present in the fecal discharge. The high florida humidity would mitigate against drying, as moist air is constantly being pulled into the solid remains tank. With time these remains deteorriate, and when empltied into thick black contractor bags have no faecal smell. We leave those in the bag in the Florida sun, for 6 months to a year and then mix the content into the gardens soil. If added to a composte pile it would continue to compste. I it seems to be composting to me. Any heat is pulled out by the suction fan, I no longer have a composting toilet so cannot measure the temperature with an IR thermeter.
 
This is what we use and there is no oder at all. go to Tractor supply and buy pine pellets. Cover your business lightly with the pellets and put the loose lid back on. The pellets absorb all odor and liquid. All wast is co-mingled. We dbl bag and chuck it into dumpsters at next stop. Lasts 4days +/-. some of my kids use them too. When sitting on them they feel like a normal household potty.

We store it on the flat spot just aft of the normal area for portipotti's. I also have a board that is the approx width of the galley sole and at night we often put the potty on top of the board near the cabin door.Its convenient and comfy. My daughter has several around the farm and on their camper school bus and her family of five all like these. No smell easy to handle. use the larger 8 or ten gallon bag. I also use these on some offsite properties I had owned . Hope this helps.
