Great Republic getting a complete restoration

Westward- I'm not sure which brand of batteries Jesse went with, but I know he hasn't been cutting any corners on quality parts and craftsmanship!

They appear to be Interstate brand, AGM type batteries. I just installed a pair when I moved my batteries forward into an enclosed space, in my case to shift weight forward. They are very expensive but completely sealed, non-outgassing, highly vibration resistant and hybrid between starting and deep cycle. Your restoration looks first-class from what I can see! Best, Mike.

Hey everyone,

Just wrapping up a week of playing on Great Republic and shrimping. I laid eyes on her for the first time in person since the restoration began when I got to town last Thursday... Needless to say it was worth every penny I put into her. I have taken a million pictures over the week and when I get back home I will download them. I spent the week moored at Cap Sante in Anacortes and mostly shrimped East Bank in area 6. I will be taking a cooler home to Iowa loaded full of shrimp.

If you live in the Puget Sound area and are needing someone to work on your prized possession, I highly recommend Jesse at Bitter End Boat Works! Stay tuned for pictures of the mostly finished product in a few days.

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes and interest during this process. It has been fun sharing with you all.

Travis,

Are you going to be around for this coming weekend? Friday Harbor CBGT? would love to see your finished product in person. Good food and discount at the dock. Hope to see you there.

Tinker,

A real nice looking boat you have now.
Mine is almost identical except for my narrow walk around cabin.
Your motor bracket is almost identical except mine has the kicker mounting on the port side and mine appears to be slightly shorter.
My OAL from anchor to motor prop is 31'.
Enjoy your new ride.

Harvey- unfortunately I had to return to Iowa yesterday and go back to work... boat restoration gets expensive! I would have loved to stay for the Friday Harbor gig. I will be back for the Salmon For Soldiers event at the end of August though.

Jack- thanks, she is a great boat, well worth the effort and expense to basically have a new boat!
