Greetings from the Cruise Ship Mercury Just Outside Nanaimo!

I would of course rather have spent this week cruising Daydream to Princess Louisa, but here we are instead, Patty really likes these mini-cruises out of Seattle, and I confess they really aren't so bad. I have a Bluetooth connection through my Treo right here, not sure how long it will last...I remember it did not work in Prince Rupert, which is where we will be tomorrow...may have to go down to the computer center and pay $0.75 a minute for my C-Brat fix! Over and out for now...

You are in Canada on a cruise ship and I am on Maui for an extended period. Neither of us has access to great beer. It is a beer wasteland on Maui. I have taken to drinking only good gin, vodka, rum and whiskey, but not mixed together.

I hope someone is taking care of the brewery.

Right now, this very moment, we are just clearing the southern tip of Quadra Island and heading toward Campbell River on the way back down to Seattle, cruise ends tomorrow in the a.m. Brewery is on autopilot at the moment I think...Cruise ship is a beer wasteland too...the Tanqueray ain't too bad though...

Pat; Was that your ship that had the Canadian Coast Guard helicopter pick up some lady that had a heart attack? Made the second page in BC papers.

Yes, it was. We watched the helicopter evacuation from our balcony, had a front row seat so to speak. Did the story have a happy ending?

Uh, I think I found a photo of you, Oldgrowth Dave. Would I trust you with a brewery??? Heck I wouldn't trust you with my grandmother!

Well, at least Pat and Patty, being younger, have managed to escape their Hippie past, and are living in the present as affluent yachtspersons:

Welcome Home, fellow space travelers!

I remember that day, Westerm Washington State College, Bellingham, 1966 - Alan Ginsburg, Ken Kesey and Merry Pranksters were camping out on High Street - what a summer!

Pat-

I spent the mid-60's right in the Bay Area in Funky Fremont, with all the access to UC Berkely, The People's Park, Haight Ashbury in S.F., Bill Graham's fledgling promotions at the Filmore and later at Winterland, all the local bands like the Greatful Dead, Jefferon Airplane, and 20 others from the Mamas and the Papas to It's a Beautiful Day, etc.

Fortunately, I was a couple of years older and had a responsible job teaching high school physics and chemistry, which kept me from going off the deep end!

Fun years! Or was it just youthful exhuberance? No, the times asked seerious questions that were eventually answered, but I see we're doing it all over again.........
