OK, now we have decided to spend Memorial Day Weekend at Cabbage Island, and I just bought my 2006 - 2007 Canadian fishing license, any tips on shrimping or crabbing in the vicinity of Saturna Island, or within a half hour - one hour trip of there? Spots you like?

Can't help you with that area. The only crabs I got were the ones that I bought from the boat at Pender Island! I have seen plenty of comercial floats on the north side of South Pender Island between it and Saturna. If you go from Cabbage Island to boat pass and through to Winter Cove and then to the Plumper sound/Port Browning area. That is where I have seen lots of floats. Crabbing should be reasonable right around Cabbage/Tumbo islands as well. I can't help with the shrimp though. You might just keep an eye out for floats in the 200 ft range and try somewhere nearby when you spot them.
