HANNAH - Looks like it's our turn!

Here we go again I've had my boat out for the last 2 weeks I Don't know when we will put it back in These storms are every week . Florida Good in the Winter but we sure pay big time in the summer . Im still on my quest for a bigger trailer (tandem) not to many used ones out there and the price of new ones even at wholesale $ are outrageous sticker shock Ill probably just go bite the bullet and get a new one Jim

Charlie;

HANNA is just burping her way out of here and left some rain. We did
have some limbs down in the yard from the neighbors' tree, but not
anything to complain abt. The long wire antenna was spared, so far.

I took Jan to A.C. Moore to get some needles and there was very little
traffic. There were few people at the BJ's fuel pumps, either. These places
are right behind our home, a few streets back.

Hope all stays well up there. Looks like our TS sea anchor worked to slow
down the ol' gal's 'hot air'.

If all goes well and the WX for Monday is as predicted, we will put the
CD25 in the water for a spin.

I wonder if there would be any interest in a cruise of the James River this
fall with an overnite at Smithfield Station Marina, Smithfield, VA.??? Food
for thought.

Art, she's about out of here too! Still about 90 minutes to high tide but I don't think it'll get much over the pier. Here's what it looks like now.

Had about 40-50mph wind gusts and probably 2-3" of rain but that's about all. The bird feeder blew over and ticked off the Cardinals but I just fixed that. They have to walk in this wind anyway! Still raining a little but it's just about over!

I'd love to go up the James but with work and all, probably not this fall. I still have a lot of work to do to get the electronics on the boat and first I gotta get the power out to the end of the pier! Getting there slowly!

Charlie;
We went out Monday... What a followup to HANNA! Boy was it a
gorgeous day for a ride...!
It was uneventful till we were returning, coming thru the Lynnhaven Inlet.
I smelt something burning and AFTER a fast pucker factor and nose dive
check,, I realized I had lost the backup camera monitor. I had the center
window open, the plastic cover off the monitor, with it turned on.
Some spray must have gotten through the vent holes in the the back of the
monitor. I have the unit home and apart on the bench and I will look at it
after I catchup with the 14 remaining e-mails logged.

I hope the power run to the end of your dock goes well... Don't forget
the GFI hookup! and the waterproof junction power boxes. Not that you
would.

As to Ol' Joe, we will have to compare notes for we are the same age,
except for my bod', also. Especially after 2 retirements - USN and TV
Broadcast[ABC-TV] the body and mind yells for everyone to be on time.

Well we had no trouble in the Northeast. It gave us a bit of a blow but I spoke to the Harbor Master Sunday morning (it came through on a Sat night) and only one boat broke free. Fortunately for me it was not Napoleon or a nearby boat.

One thing I wanted to share, my pennant lines rub on the sides of my anchor. I started the season with the classic leather line wraps as chafe protection. Normal conditions rubbed through these within two weeks! I then added the nylon wraps you see at West Marine. Supposedly you can just use the velcro to secure them to the line but I decided to stitch them to the line. They have worked like a champ! No problem for a full season on these wraps. They even held up well with the remnants of Hannah blowing through.
