I'm sure most of you realize that our good friend Dusty Sawdust Les Lampman will be 90 years old on Saturday 13 February. Just in time for Valentines day!! :love

He's a shipmate of mine from the Independence (CVA-62) days (1965), albeit I think we missed each other by a few days, as I was an Ensign (Boiler Officer) and he was the Air Boss! Probably a Commander, maybe a Captain at that time! He certainly was a Captain in this picture!!! :star

Anyway, we missed seeing him at SBS 10 (Sally and I couldn't make it) but still remember SBS 09.

Dusty, I hope you have a great day with family and friends and have many, many more birthdays!!

Happy B-Day Dusty my friend.

Just remember, that some times is is not good to be first, second...or even third...or in the top 5 even....but, to still just be in the hunt.

You have set a great Egg-zample of how our youth should live life!

Many more fun sunsets to you Brother!! :beer :beer

Dusty - some great birthday wishes to you from two Colorado friends - good times shared and best wishes for many good times ahead. Have a great day - we'll lift a glass of cheer on your day. :gift :hug :hug2

Happy B-Day Dusty. Another year of us sharing the same birthday. Hope you have as much fun on yours as I know I will have on mine. I've got to get up there some day to visit soon.

Thank you ALL! Great to see 90 coming up Saturday... look forward to 100 next.

Big giggle, Pat, on the refueling film. I was driving a B-47 from Tampa to Morocco -- refueling at night in a thunderstorm about 1/2 way across. Tired, grumpy and couldn't get hooked up in the rough air. After a couple of aborts this laconic voice came up on the radio,"Just hold what ya got, skipper, we'll back down on ya." Oooooh. Hooked up next pass okay, but I had to live with that one for a while. :smile :smile

Y'all hoist one Saturday, okay??

Dusty

Great to see you typing, Dusty. Mom hit 92 last week and seems to be getting a second wind!

True story:
She can't hear anymore and when we had her over for Sunday dinner she complained that the Assisted Living facility wanted to give her a "Heinie shot" and she didn't want it.

We were baffled. What the heck was a "Heinie shot"? Then it suddenly came to me. H1N1. She may not hear but she still reads!

Now I can't stop calling the H1N1 virus "Heinie Flu."

Have a great Saturday Night. Yer my favorite Target driver.

Regards

Don

Has it been a whole year again?

Good thing you or I didn't get any older, huh?

Missed seeing you when I couldn't come up for the Boat Show/Get Together.

Great to see you posting!

We miss ya' whenever you take a vacation!

It's sure great to have all of these C-Dory friends - even those who are sneaking off to bigger pastures!!!

Sorry to miss you, Joe and Ruth -- does that mean I get a ride in the new houseboat?? What a group there at Ranger - Jeff and the Livingston's are great. I've known Dave Livingston since mid '60's... and they build a fine boat. A great fit for you two, and I'm sure you will use the Ranger more if you keep her in the water. Works that way for me -- gettiing too danged lazy to hook up and launch.

Dusty

Dusty,

Here's wishing you the best birthday ever, and a Salute to a real American hero. Sure don't make like they used to. You enjoy the cake, ice-cream and punch, and especially, everyday on the water.
