One of life's greatest mysteries is how the boy who wasn't good enough to marry your daughter can be the father of the smartest grandchild in the world. Jewish Proverb

Father is on the C-Dory with son, who's on the same C-Dory with his son -- grandma is really enjoying this Father/Father's Day.

We rolled into Phoenix last night, to spend Father's Day (and the next week or so) being adored by our daughter. Another neat thing about having a daughter: you go from being Daddy (the smartest guy in the world), to being Dad (he's OK), to being Father (and downright stupid and embarrassing), to being Dad (when it's time to pay for a wedding), to being Daddy again. And when that daughter gets married, you go from being dumb to being the smartest guy in the world again and HE gets to be the new dumb one  (my Dad would know how to fix that. ).

It's a wonderful Father's Day: great home-cooked breakfast, presents (I even got a TOY), cards (and the kid always picks one out that gets me teary-eyed), and we're heading to to look at stuff I want to see, and then time around the pool this afternoon. Wild Blue is over 500 miles away, but this is big fun, too!

Happy Father's Day to all you daddies out there!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

I couldn't agree with you more Jim.

17 YR Old daughter Jessica (aka a "RugBrat"), made a Father's Day card for me and presented it to me this morning when I came home from work....I'd like to share it with you.....

With a picture of a toy sail boat bouncing in rough seas it says,

"Dad, in the stormy seas of life...I'm glad that you are my navigator".

(Obviously, I'm delighted to receive this accolade, but I also know that it takes "mom", "church", "teachers", "c-brats", "community", etc. to assist us in teaching these young people to become successful helmsmen to safely cruise the waters of life.)

(On a side note....I did read in her message that I am now the navigator, not captain...... ...my, don't they grow up quickly!)

(To think that I waited until I was 45 Years old to be a dad.. :disgust )

Happy Fathers Day 2007!
