While I'm not a very religious person, I still view Thanksgiving as an opportunity to give thanks to the people around me for all I have and all they help me to be. As a member of the C-brat community, I just want to take today to thank a number of people.
Thanks (once again) to Bill and Mike for creating this group and keeping this site up and running.
Thanks to Dusty, Michael and Tom for their work as moderators.
Thanks to all of those who took on the task of organizing C-brat gatherings. I wish I had made it to more of these this past year - I think the Boat show and Lopez were the only ones I actually got to - but the events I attended were well organized and a heck of a lot of fun.
Thanks to the factory for supporting us, for listening to our ideas and complaints, for the boat show tickets and gathering and for standing by their product.
Thanks to the "beer guys" - Pat and David for consistently bringing lubrication to the gatherings and for all their other contributions to the site.
A special thanks to Dusty for giving me good tips on where to shrimp near Lopez - (I'll be cooking some of those babies up today -vacuum packed and frozen since May!).
Thanks to the various C-brat members who have joined me on my fishing trips. Peter, Gary, David S. It's always fun to share with others.
Thanks to Larry Q. who took me out fishing from Westport. I was sick and miserable much of the time we were on the water BUT I did catch a nice salmon and learned about a new fishing area (to me).
Thanks to all of you. There are many people on this site that I consider as friends even though I haven't met them in person. There are some here with similar political views and some with radically different political views but most all are wonderful even when we disagree. I think it's fabulous that we (for the most part) manage to avoid topics likely to lead to disharmony in the group and focus on the positive things we can share.
Speaking of sharing - thanks to all who share their special adventures (Bill and El in particular) with the rest of us who can live vicariously through them.
Thanks to my wife for all she does and doesn't do. In particular, she tolerates my C-brat "habit".
One more thanks to all of you for putting up with such a long post...
Take some time today to be thankful and then eat, drink and be merry.
