C Dory Model
25 Cruiser
Vessel Name
Valkyrie II
We finalized the order on our CD 22 yesterday and have been looking at BOAT US lettering on the net. Not having a CD22 within a hundred miles to measure, how much vertical room is available on the side of the cabin trunk (the typical location) below the windows for the boat name?

Thanks ahead of time,

Valkyrie

91/2" of flat surface below the window, B~C letters are 5".

My letters on the 22 were 4'' . The 25 will be 5"

Well, Pat and Patti, Kate and I did go to the Boats Afloat Show at Lake Union last month. And did go on the American and Nordic Tugs. But that doesn't mean anything. Honest.

Jenny B, a C22, is 4". 4 1/2" for the "J" because of the font used.

I used plain 3" black letters--same as the ones used for the registration numbers--on my 16' Cruiser--looks good.

Valkyrie:

Congrats on the new boat!!! Take a look in Chinook's Photo Album on this site, and you can get a sense of proportion for the right letter size.
As mentioned in this thread, the tallest flat area under the windows in 9.5" high, but you don't want to use quite all of it.
