Hello to Thataway

Montana Salty

New member
I am sorry to be so late with this message but ran into some very nice people on our recent visit to Anacortes to pick up our new (to us) boat Salty.....As we sat in the parking lot by the sling launch at Cap Sante Marina a white van pulled up next to us. Charless and Marjorie Fowlkes from Bozeman Montana had recognized our Montana plates on the truck and trailer and saw we had a C Dory. They said they were related to Bob Austin and that I was to send a message telling him we had met them....and to send him thier best.......

Craig and I are so new to the C Dory World but the more I read and the more people we meet, the more I know......I REALLY LIKE THIS!!!!! :D

Julie,

It is a big family here. I'm sure Dr Bob will see your post before I see him, Since I'm in Sequim and he is in Florida), but just in case, I'll pass the word on too.

"Hi Bob, and Greetings" from Charless and Marjorie Fowlkes from Bozeman Montana. Glad to help out there. :wink

Come you all, help 'em out. Bob needs to get that message. :)

Craig,
Thanks, and say "hi" to cousins Charless & dr. Marjorie. We met via a mutual Internet friend & the Trawler list. Yes, we do have a common ancestry. We always enjoy our visits! Really great people!

Unfortunately, I am sitting with my Son Todd (he ran our C D 25 in Calif. For a few years, so is also a C Brat) in a S. Calif. Hospital I C U, where he is recovering from surgery for a pituitary tumor. He is doing well, and hopefully going home tomorrow.

Sorry to hear of your troubles regarding your son......BTW It's Julie that sends all the messages and posts.....Craig is the brawn of the crew...and does not enjoy the techno stuff so sorry I should have signed my name instead of both of us..... but regardless it was so nice of Charless and Marjorie to take the time to stop and chat.....they had just listed thier boat for sale.....
We are just getting started with boating and had so much fun in Anacortes earlier this month.....we took it nice and slow and only went as far as we felt comfortable, venturing a bit further each day.....I think someday we will be ready to hit it as hard of some on this site.....hoping next trip to buddy up with someone to show us the way....we have so much to learn.....
Anyway...nice of you to return the message...

Julie

Julie,
My appologies to you for replying to "Craig". I had pecked that response out on my i Pad when in the ICU--and afterward realized that you had said "Criag and I"

My son went home on Tuesday, and I got back home to Pensacola, late on Wednesday.

The boating world is one big family. We are hosting boaters at Camp Thataway on the 4th, and then on again the 6th some boaters we met on line from Australia, who come by every year. We spent a number of years "world cruising"--and often when you would contact a boat in mid ocean it would turn out that you had common friends. We saw some folks in the Broughtons a couple of years ago, who we had last seen in Europe.

Again, thanks!--enjoy our family!
