Dagnabit, I'm missing sturgeon fishing!!! Can someone please post some pictures/stories about some catching? (note: not just fishing....Catching!) Maybe some crabbing? I know it's cold n windy n rainy... H - E - L - P ! ! !

Im sure you have heard the old addage that goes" You never have to look very far to find someone with a bigger problem than yours" Well here you go. Where I work on Alaska's North Slope it has been dark for a month and it will stay dark for the best part of another month! I live in south east Alaska where it is a lot better, us having about 6 hours of daylight right now. Here is the punch line, thats just enough light for me to go out and look at the new boat setting in my yard that has NEVER BEEN WET YET. So take heart we will soon be out there getting it done!

catymae&steve: Sorry to hear about all the turmoil on the boat. Although I haven't had any problems with our new one, I haven't been able to get any dealer or factory support on the minor problems I have encountered. No call backs, no reply to e-mails. Don't know what is up with that. Most everyone here has had a great experience. Not me. But on a lighter subject, have you ever considered sturgeon fishing on the yaquina river, up near where you were catching salmon? A friend of mine picked up a couple shakers while salmon fishing, and I have been thinking of giving it a try.

We've already been frozen over as long as any winter in recollection

I am seriously considering...

Waxing up the bottom, and trailering it to the top of the sledding hill.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! :xtongue

Lloyds, yes, we've planned to give it a whirl...someday when we have a boat. Sorry to hear about the non-responsiveness you're experiencing...I understand exactly how you feel...so many are so happy with their CDs...and we've got Murphy's Law workin us over really good! Hang in there. BE PERSISTENT in getting the issues resolved!...hope to see you on the river!

WAIT Rabidfish! We have a boat you can use for that! Too funny!

This should be a fishing fix for those of us who are not catching. No expensive gear, no bait, no flies, no quickfish. It gets good about 1:45 into the video. Robbi

Not using quickfish, but they ARE quick fish! WOW, I can't even imagine that!

I have had a salmon jump ACROSS the Seaswirl before...heard 'clunk clunk clunk' on the windshield like someone was knocking -- looked up to see what it was and it was a salmon flopping its way across the windshield...got back to port and had scales and outlines of the fish to prove it! What a hoot!

Thanks, Robbi..we needed that

You are right. I can't log on either. Sorry. I'll work on it. Robbi

Completely Colorado took it down, but is putting it back up on 12/28. :?

Hey guys, PM me your contact info and i fI can get this gout sorted out we may be able to get out this week some time...

What a WONDERFUL offer! Thanks! I sent you a message ... we've arranged to pack up the grandson and head over to Baker for some coyote hunting at our friends' ranch this coming week.

But I asked for a raincheck! :-) That'd be great fun.

Happy Holidays,
Caty and Steve

I didn't get your message so please try again.
I look forward to fishing with you two. Don't worry, we'll get you through this dry spell until your new boat is ready. Have they given you a forecasted date yet?

ahhhh, can't iMAGINE why you didn't settle over there....

We got wind, snow and rain (made slush) and not much good for coyote hunting. The fellas went out the first night we were there and they couldn't see diddly....bit of a white out, and Steve got one shot off just before we left for home 3 days later at one that was almost sitting in Virginia. We'll wait for spring and go back for some rats

However, we did meet the bassoonist from the Oregon Symphony and his wife (Bob and Betsy, their new neighbors) who know Tom and Rene (Primative) -- all C-Dory owners! Small world, eh?

It is a small world, I imagine the odds of running into C-D folks decreases all the time.
We're not living there as there is no work, come retirement time, we'll probably end up living up the valley towards Sumpter. It'd beautiful country around there but a person can't eat scenery...damn wintry too.

Spring time and the meadow maggots, what a blast, a person can melt down a gun barrel just on the old road between North Powder and Union (Sis used to teach at North Powder). I got chewed out once for standing on the road and shooting into a ranchers field. We where plinking away and along came a ranch truck. The guy pulled up and barked at us for not getting out in the fields and seriously hunting the varmits :)

I could babble on for pages about Baker valley, I best shut up now

Some spectacular scenery is right....but I'm not much of a tumbleweed/sagebrush/rattle snake counter...thinkin that'd wear out pretty quickly for entertainment :)

I think there are probably quite a few folks on here that would enjoy living over there if one could actually make a living. I hunted elk up marble creek several years and just loved it. Nothing like getting to the top of the ridges and looking down on the valley or over to granite and sumpter.

I'm going steelhead fshng on the 11th of February. We'll see how we end up going. It a guided deal.... So don't tell my mom.

Didn't get out bird hunting at all ths year, so I feel like I reall need to kill something to make me feel alive.

Will post pics of steelhead hopefully soon.
