Here goes!

Tug,

The rope locker is three sides made of 3/8 ply, finished with epoxy and paint. The lower edge is curved to match the deck. The top is also 3/8ths ply with a stiffener rib underneath. The top has no hinges and is held on with a stretch cord and has a rope tether to prevent loss.

With the three sides resting on the nonskid of the deck (no caulk), there is drainage. The sides and front are held onto the cabin trunk front and the deck with SS angles thru bolted with #10 machine screws and nuts.

The locker holds 300ft of 7/16ths nylon and 30 ft of 1/4 chain.

Tom,

I saw the boat this past summer and I saw no sign of any problem with the mounting or with the bolts thru the hull side. If you are really concerned, the hull in the area of the bolts could be built up thicker on the inside with epoxy and glass cloth.

Larry ..thanks for the information, that is a great idea.

E-mailed Defender and they can special order those side tanks from Moeller for $ 224.99 each plus the shipping.
