El and Bill

We have just completed condensing our website into an Ebook -- available from Amazon.com. We think it is a good book for those considering a boat, or who have just bought a boat. Also should be of interest for those considering cruising longer distances. The price is right --$2.99

Congrats on the eBook, Bill and El! Your website has been a great resource for small boat cruisers; being able to take it along on a Kindle, iPad, or smart phone is a plus. Hope it is a best seller for you!

Best wishes,
Jim

Excellent! Thank you so much for everywhere you've been, everything you've been for us and every bit of all you mean to us!

finally a book, can't wait to get one. I always enjoyed your writing and pictures. The pictures are what sold the spousal unit on the c-dory years back. I'm now patiently awaiting a coffee table book :)

I got it and it is fascinating!

Being a minimalist like E&B, I don't have a Kindle. But I was able to find the app (thanks Chromer!) and now have the complete book on my iPhone.

Congrat, El and Bill,

What a great plus. Now I just need to get a Kindle, AmazonPlus, or an iPhone. I have a friend with Kindle, and there will be a copy of hyou book on that very soon.

You two are an inspiration. Thank you.

Harvey

El & Bill, its wonderful you have managed to do this & still retain the heart of what your web site has. I had no problem downloading it to the Kimble app on our IPad. Now we have that, the 600 pages we copied, printed & made into our own book years ago & access to the later more detailed accounts & photos in your web page. What a life you have & continue to live with us so glad to have shared some special time with you.

We are very interested in the possible sharing of your latest adventure in the Arctic.

Wow, I'm very intrigued by this! You guys lived on a CD 22 for almost 10 years?? That's so amazing. I can't wait to read the book. Thanks

To me, that would be nearly equivalent to squatting in Moscow Airport for a decade, to avoid extradition.

Even as weird as your opinion is of course you have the right to it, but why post it to this site, when your equating El & Bill's written account of years spent navigating the waters of the US & Canada in a small C-Dory boat, while in between touring much of the rest of the world with the addition of their philosophy on reason for doing it with spending "the equivalent time isolated in a airport". On the other hand bringing this thread back to the top for any opinion is a good thing.

Some people can't imagine spending extended time on a small boat. Most of the good folks here get it. Even our family had no idea what we were doing on our boat (explanations often get blank stares). We would say, "It isn't like we're going out into the middle of the ocean and just sitting - the best part of small boat cruising is going to great places where you can explore, most often off the boat. Coastal US and all the wonderful lakes and waterways are amazing."

Bill and El were one of the first ones who communicated with us when we signed on to this forum (and the old C-Dogs) to find out about this small boat cruising stuff. Their website (the basis of the book) is what inspired us to find our own way to "live big on a small boat."

I'm with my buddy Jay - Bill and El are an inspiration. Small boat cruising isn't for everyone... only those with a spirit of adventure and the desire to see what most people can't even imagine. 8)

Jim

For the record, I have spent plenty of time in airports (never in Russia) - time onboard the boat is better.

I have to agree with Jay and Jim. El and Bill's web site was one of the inspirations for me to go C-Dory. Both Jim and Jay have spent considerable time cruising on a small boat too, much more than I have, but they too are inspirations. This last summer I spent nearly 2 months on my boat. I have seen that look too...... "you did what :?: ....for how long :?:

YUP, they don't, and probably won't get it. That's OK, to each his/her own. There are folks who would drive around the country in a motor home, or a camper or trailer about the same size as our boats. They don't get the same look   but it's OK.

For the record, in 1967 I spent 3 days in an airport with about 8,000 other GI's. That was nothing like spending time on my boat.
