The check is in the mail........ I promise, I only want to hold you close......

Just got an email from the USCG Merchant Marine Processing Center.

My USCG Masters License was mailed to me on the 4th. Considering I submitted my application on January 24th, it only took 4 1/2 months.

Let us know what you have the paperwork in hand so we can give you a big salute, Captain David.

Last year when I upgraded, I was told 4-6 weeks; it showed up at the end of week 4, as I recall. Took another 4-6 weeks for the TWIC card from the application date on that one. Hurry up and wait.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Federal government "efficiency" at work. And just think, after Obama and the dem's are done, that "efficient gov't" will be so much larger with so many more workers.

anyone that's been in line at the dmv is for the water boarding of government employee's. and thats all the politics we should get into for the day.

Government flaming elsewhere please, let's talk boats here. Lesson's learned from past election :D

If you mean CG Auxiliary, no. I took the classes and pasted all the CG testing and completed the other paperwork, ie drug screening, physical, got my first aid and cpr current, TWIC card, and just received my USCG Masters License for 50 ton Inland. Now I can work on upgrading to 100 Ton.

No, I said Coast Guard, which is quite different, as I understand it. The CG is a branch of the military and the Auxiliary is a volunteer group that does vessel checks, harbor patrols and the like. If I understand correctly, it is the CG that does the testing etc. for the Master's license.

And congrats, Capt David - we'll be up to visit you folks soon and look forward to doing a little cruising together.
