Thanks for the great suggestions. An important clarification is in order.
My wife has allergies and moderate asthma. Our experience with marinas is that while more developed marinas are typically usually sterile figuratively, they are also more sterile literally, which benefits the health issues greatly. Shore power for air cleaners is mandatory. It is a trade-off that we need to make.
Thanks again for your gracious input, all

I am not sure what you are using for "air cleaners", but an increase in battery capacity and an inverter, or a small generator may allow you to run the equiptment and still anchor out/use alternative marinas. My general impression, since we travel by both RV and boat--is that although RV campgrounds generally have better facilities than marinas, I would rather have my own facilities...

The other question is it possible to use car/truck/RV air purifiers--some of which have low draw 12 volt systems?

It is amazing how handicaps can be overcome with some innovation, and boating is generally a low antigen enviiornoment--except for the molds. You often find these in your own boats, others boats and in the "facilities". (Vs the air borne pollen type of materials which may flare the allergies/Asthma.
