Introducing Myself...

Nutty B

New member
I'm a 35 year old boater who has longed to own and operate a C-dory since I can remember. My dad owned an '86 22'Angler "Blue Jay" for a number of years before moving on to "more comfortable boats". Now, after 3 boats working my way to a C-dory, I finally own one. It's an '87 22' cruiser previously named "Hunky Dory" out of the Seattle/Tacoma area. It's now known as the "Nutty B" and she's my dream. One day I will push "Nutty B" to my limits, but knowing the boat for so long I doubt she will ever see hers.

I've spent most of the last year cruising the Willamette and Colombia to St. Helens, and quite a bit of time in Tillamook Bay. This Labor Day my son and I are going to head out to the family's old stomping grounds and visit Jones Isl. and with any luck we'll spend a night or two on Sucia while we're there. I've always noticed a little extra excitement when I've seen a C-dory on the water, that's been amplified a thousand fold since finally owning my baby.

I hope to meet the western C-brats in my cruises. It's nice to finally be home. Keep an eye out for an ugly ass baby blue 22' cruiser that will be turning toward the rips and nasties. Afterall, calm water is for big boats.

Aaron,

With all due respect, you don't know "ugly ass baby blue 22' cruiser."

Looks to me like you have a great vessel! She already has radar, a kicker, who knows what else. Heck, she even had a fine looking co-pilot!

You guy's will have a Ball over the years. Think of fish-caught, think of the nights at anchor, think of the stories-told when you're old ... and Nutty B could still be going!

Good On 'Ya!

Her color isn't first, or second, or fifteenth pick but she's still a C-dory. My memories of a very similar boat hold the top of my best, worst, scariest and funnest trips of my life. This boat is the one that will hopefully stick with my son the same as my dad's did with me. We'll just go easy on scariest and worst for a couple years... focus on the best and most fun for now.

Aaron, glad to have another CDory in Canby! Could be we need a Canby CBGT...

Welcome to the group!
I saw Canby and had to check... You weren't the grey C-dory we've passed numbers of times on Multnomah Slough. You spend much time on the Willamette or Colombia? I haven't seen a red C-dory much of anywhere.

We've done a number of weekend trips from Meldrum Bar to St.Helens over the last winter and spring.

Aaron,
Welcome to the C-Brats......The name of your boat is terrific. It ties in well with your occupation....Great Choice!
If I'm not mistaken I met your boat before when it was owned by the former owner.

Yes welcome to the family. I'm sure that your c-dory will turn into a memory machine. I'm hoping to do the same with my grandson.

Aaron,

Welcome, and she's a great looking vessel. Make good memories, they are one of the few things that can't ever be taken away,.... well until you get older than dirt and can't remember them anymore and then won't remember what it is you are trying to remember or why you are trying to remember it and on and oh and on an ahhh oh....I forgot.

Great to have you on board.
