Introduction

Harvey,

The one seminar at the Seattle Boat Show that I really want to attend is the Monday 1:15 pm "Do You Copy" seminar about how to use the VHF. Until then, I won't know how to respond to you.

Limpet 16, Limpet 16, Limpet 16, SleepyC , SleepyC on 16, Do You Copy........

Sounds like an interesting class. (See your other thread on What to do at the SBS.)

And back to Jason on the Limpet 22. Being from Hood River, have you been up or down through any of the Columbia locks yet? By any chance, did you see the C-Dory fleet go through HR last fall on the run down the Snake and Columbia to Astoria?

I've locked through several times on sailboats, but not on Limpet.

I did miss the C-dory flotilla in Hood River when they came through. Too bad. Had I known it was happening I would've gone and said hi. I just saw the photo album on that last night actually.

I missed that too. IIRC I had some conflicting VA appointments. If the Snake-Columbia trip happens again nest year, I am all in. I know I had severe reservations due to the (late in the year) scheduling, but they did not have near the severe weather I would have expected.

It would be fun to see you on the water up there.

I just reread the C-Brat Behavioral Standards manual, and it appears we can accept this new fellow Limpet into our cult.
Jason, we're glad you're here, and we'll see you on the water!

Funny, I hadn't heard the "cult" word in relation to the C-BRATS or C-Dorys for quite a while. Sunday, when I launched in Port Townsend, a couple came up as I was getting ready to launch and were asking about the boat. (Anyone ever heard of that happening before -- Jason, get ready with some answers.) So, after several minutes and 20 questions, "I've heard that C-Dorys are a cult, so do you have to pay somebody to have one?"   . I just figured it must be my day. 2 hours later as I am talking to an owner of a new Merry Fisher24, he is telling me that he knows C-Dorys because they are built where he lives --- Des Moines, WA, and adds that he looked at them but then learned that they are "Kind of a cult boat" and his wife didn't want any part of that. (See that story in the "Winter Cruises" thread:

So, that twice in a few hours and now its up again. Must mean that we are passionate about or boats.

Get Ready Jason, it will come, and it never goes away. Always allow 20 minutes at the gas station stop. Ten for fueling and 10 for the questions.
