IPAD 2 MOUNT

With the help of several Brats I came up with a perfect mount for my Ipad 2. I took a chance and ordered a RAM mount with a 3 inch suction. Let me tell you it's rock solid and will not come loose. What I like about it is I can mount it on the first mates side in seconds. I mean that seconds. When I'm on the water by myself I can move it to the Captains side just as easy. The suction mount really works great. It looks like the Ipad blocks the window on the First mates side but it doesn't at all. No loss in visibility what so ever on either side

It's been said many times, this is one heck of site.

I ordered the flat mount version today to hang the iPad from the overhead shelf, but I'd also like to be able to mount it in the berth for movies, etc. Fortunately RAM sells the pieces individually so all I need to switch back and forth is a suction cup and 1" ball (will stick to the underside of the Bomar hatch). The arm and iPad cradle will be relocated back and forth as a unit.

It sure is Bob. I love it. :P With autopilot you can be in the cockpit and see every fish under you and what the bottom looks like. The g2 vision chips are nothing short of AWESOME.

I just sent back a Seasucker unit that would not suck up to the Ipad and ordered a RAM mount with a 3 inch suction.

I really did LOVE the Raymarine E-7 wireless that will give you the same picture on the Ipad, whether you are on the bridge, in the head or in the cockpit. We saw it at the Seattle Boat Show. But the C-80 is working fine. The Ipad is a really great back up with Navionics on it. And if all else fails, I have the Droid X with the same on it. AND THERE ARE ALWAYS ............................................CHARTS. Paper, that is.

nice set up, it's sure nice to be able to wander around these forums and see how folks have set up their boats....I haved ordered up the HTMS for our boat....(Hambone Tablet Mounting Solution)

I hope that sucker really sucks, I can see the beauty in the flexibility of that mount,,,boat, car, other boats, just grab and go...I like it

The HTMS really sucks. I ordered one and have been testing it on my boat. I have the suction cup on flat, high gloss gelcoat and it has stuck rock solid for the past month and a half through temperatures that have varied between 25 and 80 degrees. As with all RAM mounts, it is very nicely made.

That's good to know. I bought a suction cup mounted soap holder that has a habit of falling off at about 2am, I've recieved a bit of abuse from the spousal unit over that. Her first response on the ram mount was " that's going to be just like the durn soap holder"......the heat is on, I'm counting on the ram suckability

I bought the Sea Sucker for my iPad 3 and it works great with visual indication if the suck is getting weaker. Suck is a nautical term for vacuum.

I did read in the instructions that some iPads do not have a rear logo that will form a solid suck seal. They suggest the included Apple decal be applied over the rear Apple logo on the iPad. My iPad has no problem with suck.

So your holder uses a suction cup to hold the back of the iPad? My RAM mount(s) have a nice clamp thingy that fits the iPad very securely, but isn't hard to take off. The only suction cup I have is the one on the other end that sucks onto the window or the boat dashboard (or the Bomar hatch for berth viewing).
